Everything seemed to be happening at once. One second she had been nervously kneeling on the ground by the dumpster, her arms wrapped around her body and the next thing she knew a loud noise was echoing in the alleyway. It took her a few seconds to realize what had happened but once she did she was quickly scrambling back up to her feet.
She couldn't stay. As horrible as it was to run and leave Felicity there she didn't have any second thoughts about doing so. Her vision was blurred by the tears that continued to well in her eyes and stream down her cheeks but she knew that Marco had gone back out to the street, allowing her to take off in the opposite direction down the alley. It hadn't been the first time she had seen somebody die (or assumed they were dead) but that didn't make it any better. Just like she felt when she had watched her friend Abigail get murdered she felt helpless, as if there was something more she should have done but hadn't been able to do.
