RP: Obscurus Books Presents
Date: 26 March 2003 (through early Thursday morning likely)
Characters: Everyone who'd like to come, plus various NPCs! Children Welcome! Add your tags!
Location: Obscurus Books & Cafe
Private/Public: Public as public can be!
Warnings: PG to start, if things get kinky, please use the subject line of the first comment to rate appropriately!
Summary: Just another day at Obscurus Books, until the storm hits and traps people inside.

Gareth looked around the bookshop with pride. Children were sitting enthralled by Marigold and her husband as they performed flashy magic tricks. Logan was hosting a small cooking class, teaching everyone from housewives to retired Unspeakables (though Gareth though it was highly unlikely that there were actually such a thing as retired Unspeakables) how to bake enchiladas. His Maddie was graciously signing copies of her latest best-seller Emerald Isle, and open mike poetry night would start in a half hour, followed by a rousing karaoke contest. All in all, Thursday was shaping up to be a wonderful, and profitable, night for Obscurus Books.

Ron didn't mind being used as a space heater, not even by someone he'd just met again. He wrapped an arm around Harry and Dennis both, and tried very hard to keep his hand from twitching in the direction of the left over sandwich. His mother would brain him wiht a frying pan if she ever found out he took food from someone without being invited to first. He didn't count Harry in that though, because they shared everything.

He blinked at the mention of Colin, having forgotten--or not wanting to remember--that Dennis' brother was dead. He still felt sick and shaky when he remembered that day, remebered seeing so many of their friends--and Fred--lying dead in the Great Hall. And Colin had been one of them. He tightened his arm around Harry, knowing what his lover must be feeling and summoned a smile.

"Well, we can definitely do that. Not sure how it will be to sleep with so many people here, so we can definitely do the talking bit for awhile," he said.

"Good plan," Harry told Dennis with an encouraging smile. "It might be." Harry said with a chuckle. "He's got a fiery temper at times at least." Harry leaned up slightly to peck Ron's cheek to let him know he was just teasing.

Harry brushed Dennis' hair out of his face when he began to look sleepy. His own smile faltering a bit when Dennis mentioned Colin. Ron's arm tightening around him made him feel a bit better though.

"Will be weird to sleep with so many around." Harry agreed, wondering if he would even be able to get some sleep. "Ron will talk your ear off for hours." Harry told Dennis, "If he gets quiet look up, he probably stole your sandwich."

"So don't get him angry at me?"

That felt nice, reminded him of his Mum, and Colin: playing 'I draw 5 snakes' till they fell asleep.

"Oh, I don't know. Done it before at my house. Not this many people but a lot. Gypsies."

He leaned over and smiled at Ron. "Doya want the other sandwich, I can't eat it?"

Ron had a feeling that it would take quite a lot to get angry at Dennis--Dennis trying to steal Harry away was maybe the only thing he could think of off the top of his head--and ruffled Dennis' hair at the comment.

At Harry's teasing about stealing Dennis' food, Ron slid his hand down and pinched Harry's side gently. "That's enough out of you, Potter," he said, but was grinning. And when Dennis offered the second sandwich to him he couldn't stop the beaming smile that came up.

"Thanks Den!" Ron said, and reached for the sandwich eagerly, taking a large bite. When he was done chewing he looked over at Harry guiltily. "Did you want half?"

"Exactly," Harry told Dennis with a wink. "If he does send me an owl and I'll calm him down for you." It would be very fun to calm Ron down Harry was sure.

Jumping slightly when Ron pinched him Harry pinched him back. "Don't be a prat Weasley." Harry pouted at Dennis, "He pinched me."

Chuckling at Ron's excitement over the sandwich Harry shook his head. "I'm not a bototmless pit like you are." Smiling Harry told Dennis "He eats at least twice as much as me. Sometimes four times as much I'd bet. Especially when cookies are involved."

"Okay."

"You didn't like it?" Dennis loved it when Lee pinched him, when Lee did anything, but it was best not to follow that train of thought he realized.

"Well he's taller than you. Takes more to fill him up probably." Cookies? Dennis grinned, he needed to bake more. "Good, now I know who to give my excess to. I like to bake, but only to smell them, I only eat a couple. Now I can fob them off on Ron."

Ron grinned at Dennis, liking the young man more and more with each sentance out of his mouth. "Yeah, Harry, 'm taller than you," he said and stuck his tongue out playfully before taking another bite of the sandwich.

Perking up at the mention of cookies, Ron quickly swallowed. "Cookies?" he asked hopefully, sounding a lot like Teddy did. "What kind of cookies? I love cookies." He grinned happily. "Yeah, I'll take the left overs. I can't bake, just ask Harry, but I can definitely eat cookies." And after eating a dozen in one setting would have to spend extra time the next day at the Ministry, working off the extra calories in the training room. Which was okay, because he really enjoyed pounding on the Auror trainees.

Laughing softly at the look of confusion on Dennis' face he said, "I just like yelling at him for being a prat." That and their play fighting couldn't really end in shagging like it usually did Harry didn't want to be tempted.

He did have to pout when Dennis agreed with Ron, and poke Ron when he stuck his tongue out at him. He was laughing at Ron when he admitted that Ron couldn't bake. "Ron is allowed to reheat things only. Otherwise things might be destroyed." He told Dennis, "He is fantastic at eating things though. I have to hide my baking for him if its for other people."

"Oh. Is he a prat very often?" Dennis couldn't imagine that but he'd always admired Ron, maybe a litte more, before he found Lee or found that Ron and Harry were together. So he was mindful that he might not be the most objective of observers.

"S'alright." He told Ron. "You can't bake, I can't play Quidditch, or Chess." He shrugged. Everyone had their strengths and weaknesses.

He grinned. "My Mum's like that. We don't let her into the kitchen. Cept to make homemade wine and stuff like that, she's pretty decent at that."

He petted Nicholas as his dog climped into his lap. "Send him cross the hall when he does that. I bake at least a couple times a week and never eat half of it."

"No, I am not a prat very often!" Ron defended himself. "Don't listen to Harry, he likes to get me in trouble." He pouted at Harry, but leaned over to kiss him anyway. Sometimes he just couldn't help himself.

Sammy took a page from Nicholas' book and climbed on Ron's lap, laying his head over Harry's knees so he was across them both. Ron scratched the dog's head gladly. "You might come to regret that offer Den," he teased. "But too late to take it back now."

"Yes he is," Harry told Dennis before Ron kissed him. Smiling after the kiss Harry grinned at Den, "He makes up for it though." He could definitely handle Ron's pratishness in exchange for his kisses.

Brushing his fingers against Ron's as he petted Sammy Harry nodded, "I can do that. Just hide whatever you are saving for others before you invite him over." He didn't think Ron would try to sniff the goodies out at Dennis's place.

"I'm not getting in the middle of that. Maybe young but not that naive."

Dennis grinned. "Nah, the only person I'd save stuff for is Lee. We're dating and all. He's brillaint." And he should stop before he babbled even more.

Oh, he hadn't answered Ron's question earlier. "Sorry, you asked what I baked. All kinds. Cept nothing with nuts or coconut. Cause all coconut is, is proof that the Gods have strange sense of humor."
