Sometimes the world you create on the page seems more friendly and alive than the world you actually live in.
Since the dawn of time, storytellers have enchanted audiences with their words. But there is an even rarer gift. There are those who, by reading out loud, can bring characters to life. Out of books and into our world. Most of these people prefer to keep their skills a secret but some do not even know this gift is theirs, until it is too late.
You know how your story begins, do you know how it ends?
Have you ever invested weeks, months, or perhaps years into character development only for a game to suddenly lose interest? For things to go awry and you choose to part ways? Are you sitting in a game that you've lost interest in simply because you don't wish to lose all that character development?
If you answered yes to any of these questions then Spinning Compass is for you!
We at Spinning Compass allow character development from any game. From Insane Journal? Approved! From Live Journal? Approved! From Dreamwidth? Approved! It doesn't matter what journal format they come from, your character will be approved!
We also accept Original Characters, and any canon fandom characters.
Character approval pending application acceptability.
Books are adventure! They contain murder and mayhem and passion. They love anyone who opens them.

 Welcome to the future, where magic combines with technology and possibilities are endless; where pop stars are the new gods and media the religion; where dragons and their riders dominate the Earth, cowboys roam the frontier, and pirates rule the skies...
Remnants of the Earth is an original sci-fi fantasy RPG with a broad, unique setting based around the damaged planet Earth (not to be confused with our Earth), the newly terraformed planet Edanith, and the broad, dangerous depths of outer space and its resident space stations.
You don't need any sci-fi knowledge to play here. We follow the Rule of Cool and take the "it works because it does" approach, and the technology isn't too far removed from our own--we've just got space ships and magic. If you're comfortable with a modern setting, you'd be comfortable here, too!

For over two hundred years, Shadow Falls was known as a quiet, tranquil New England town, as temperate and picturesque as any other and rich with the history of its Indian and Puritan forefathers. But a dark truth slept in the particulars of its provenance -- a provenance which has seen not one, but two waves of colonization.
For a number of those residents that call the Shadow Falls home have done so for centuries. These residents are not human, but vampires: the second settlers. Sweeping into the town and establishing an iron-clad rule over the humans living there, they built an extensive shadow government, enabled by a covenant that kept humans trapped within the borders of the town as stock and bound their own kind to secrecy. Through countless intrigues, security breaches, mystical plagues, and even a quelled uprising or two, the vampires largely prevailed in this scheme.

We here at RRI have a very different approach to the problem of prison population and aftercare. Let's face it. The system is broken, and has been for a long time. Criminals go in, they get out, and the rate of repeat offenders is astronomical. Prison does not turn out rehabilitated members of society. Prison takes criminals and churns out worse offenders. What we have right now is not working. The system as it stands is not working.
Our aim is to change the system. Fix what is broken.
Our mission is to take convicts and hand tailor a program designed to not only exorcise their antisocial tendencies, but to cultivate productive, active members of a community. People who will not only contribute, but who also desire and strive to aid the whole. We create an environment that will encourage only the best, and bring out positive change in each and every one of the individuals involved.

We have taken years working this program out and are excited to finally have it come to fruition. We have hand selected the initial participants, who have each been chosen through a painstaking process to allow us to launch this revolutionary programme with the best cross section of personalities, upbringings, pasts and yes, even convictions. Make no mistake, each and every one of the participants is, of course, a criminal. But with this system we shall prove that this is not all they ever have to be.
Upon completing the program, participants who graduate will be granted release. Even those who were pulled from death row will receive pardons. We have full faith in the program, and expect everyone will go through with flying colors. |

Every hero has a beginning, and every team starts out as individuals just trying to find their way. Together, they have the chance to be more. Assuming that they can find a way to work together.
Truth and Justice is a brand new game set in the DC comicsverse with a small circle of dedicated players.
Most wanted characters to start are: Bruce Wayne, Hal Jordan, Arthur Curry, J'onn J'onnzz & Barry Allen, as well as supporting cast for all heroes. |
