This Is Just An Ordinary Day
Who: Dorian and Mitch
When: Two days after meeting with Sydonai
Where: Asgard's training arena
Rating: PG
Warnings: None
Summary: Marble-form Dorian decides to relieve some stress in the arena. Mitch has the same idea in mind and the two brothers spend a leiurely time together.
He was 22 years old, but didn't feel like a soul. He felt like his body - decrepit, decomposing, fragile. It certainly wasn't a lie to say that Dorian recovered quickly from most any challenge he had faced in his comparatively long existence, but this time was different. This time he discovered it was one thing to say he was better, and another to believe it.
But he wasn't like most. He'd lost his control. He'd slipped, and he was ashamed of it. What he had said - how he'd reacted to Alex - it wasn't him. It was something ugly, something pitiful, that had emerged from him in a moment of desperation and anguish. Dorian had no intention of telling anyone about what happened, even if Alex (who seemed to be a braggart by nature) did. All anyone had to know was Poppy was hurt. That was what mattered most.
Taking out his frustration on a punching bag, Dorian convinced himself he wasn't being secretive or distrustful. He had the right to his privacy; to protect his himself from any backfire he could receive for not being stronger. He delivered blow after blow into the bag before slapping his hands against it, breathing deeply. Sweat dripped from his brow, his cheerful expression barely existent. Taking a swig of water from his bottle, he sat himself on a nearby bench and took a rest for a few minutes.
