Blythe watched as Kain entered the room, expression softening perceptively. There was a chipper beat to his voice that wasn't too uncommon between them now, but it did surprise her that he sounded so happy about whatever they needed to discuss. She certainly knew that when she had to bear news, it was generally of the unfortunate or unexpected sort.
When he sat next to her, she shifted delicately, lightly touching his knee before folding her hands in her lap. "There isn't a need to apologize." She responded in kind, not quite sure what his angle was. "What would you like to discuss? Is it relevant to the meeting? You were superb, you know." She knew whatever he wanted to talk about, it had nothing to do with self-doubt, but she figured she had a chance to say it since she was on the topic. Kain probably knew better than anyone that he was more than decent at organizing and heading such meetings.
