---
Grimmjow walked openly through the empty streets. His shoulders were hunched forward and his hands shoved into the pockets of his modified hakama. Blue eyes scanned right and left, and he was quick to monitor any change in reiatsu behind or around him, but otherwise he gave no indication that he was even paying much attention to his surroundings.
Emptiness was aptly named, he found. There were no people, no sounds of life, no movement. There were just the seemingly abandoned buildings of an entire town spreading out past the Niflheim estate, each perfectly preserved in its own way amid the desolation.
He liked it.
When he'd been brought to Niflheim the night before, he'd been encouraged to first get to know the other agents of Hell. True to his nature, he instead took it upon himself to take a periphery tour of the estate before walking right out the front door to see what else was there to see - all instead of trying to locate any others first.
A slight change in reiatsu off to one side was enough to catch his attention, though, and he started to veer off in that direction. Maybe he'd meet someone from Niflheim after all, or maybe he wouldn't. Either way, he was going to do things here his way. Whoever it was up ahead was getting closer.
