He found it quite sad, really. They were roommates, yet for one reason or another, they had barely spoken. He supposed it was made worse by the fact that he didn't find Midvalley a particularly irritating person, and he didn't think Midvalley thought that of him. As far as people went - in general, disregarding both Niflheim and Asgard and speaking just in terms of people - Shinji didn't think he was that bad. Of course, he was slightly biased when it came to adults, since there were so many that had proved they were nothing short of disappointing, but Midvalley didn't appear to have much in common with those types. That said, Shinji wasn't about to turn round and start viewing him as a potential 'best friend'. It would just be nice to know him better, was all. And perhaps have something that resembled something more of a conversation.
As such, whilst they were both in their room, Shinji decided it were as good a time as any to strike up a conversation. Or at least start one. If it went nowhere? Well, that was that and he'd tried. No hard feelings. It would be better than an argument, at any rate. Besides, if nothing else, it was better than staring at the 'fantastic' decor of their room. He had tried for the better part of a week to remove the blood splatters, but all attempts had failed. It seemed like they were there to stay, and if he were to be completely honest, it bothered him. Quite a lot.
Lying on his back, Shinji stared up at the ceiling for a few moments, running potential conversation topics through his mind. There were plenty of topics that were interesting to him, but he doubted they would be interesting to Midvalley. Mentally shrugging, he spoke anyway. "So, like, how long have you played music?" He asked. He was actually genuinely curious about the matter. Musical instruments had never appealed to him. They were Shuuya's thing. He idly wondered whether Shuuya and Midvalley would have gotten along. He expected it. Shuuya got along with most people; he was just that sort of person.
