She nodded in return. "That's good. I'd hate to have to kill them all." She looked at a snake slithering in front of her, and remembered that she was hungry. "Though, um... if you'll excuse me..." With that, she snatched the snake up with a hand just behind its head, her other hand grabbing its body farther down to control the wriggling and sunk her teeth in. She cringed slightly at the taste of the blood. It certainly paled next to that of a mammal, and even more compared to a human. But it was sustenance, at least.
When she was done, the snake hung limp in her hands. It wasn't quite dead, but it wasn't going to last long, either. It wasn't a large enough animal to sustain that kind of blood loss.
She gave it a pitying look, then held it out to Rude, if he wanted a snake that didn't have much of its blood left in it. She didn't really know how cooking snakes worked, since cooking anything was sort of a foreign concept.
