Riley caught the kick and pushed it down as he spun a step back, getting into the swing of things. "So's yours," he pointed out, hands lashing out with quick karate chops. "You're always who you are; you're a Slayer and that's coded into who you are. I used to be a soldier, and that's coded in to who I am. But it doesn't define either of us. You told me about your dream, remember? You walk, you talk, you shop, I don't remember all of it, but you told me you weren't defined by the Slayer, so the flip of that is, you define it by being who you are."
