"I was very afraid it was going to be awkward," he admitted. "So much so that I raided my hotel's mini-bar before I left, but that's turned out to be a very much unneeded precaution." He paused when Buffy did, and he took the momentary break in conversation to pick up a handful of underclothing. "I haven't met... anyone, really. Spike, you, Maria... oh, Andrew and some guy named Kyle briefly at the Halloween party. I've been keeping to myself a lot." Not quite the truth; he'd been keeping to the company of one other person, but that was a passable fib. "And the only reason I met Maria is because I was repairing some of your lobby cams and I chucked a wrench at my toolbox. She just happened to be in the way." He started walking again, and dumped all his purchases on the nearest register counter. "We should probably both try and get out more, but I don't have the urge or the energy." Nor should he, at least until he got some kind of word what his current status was with the Agency. "Oh, and uh. I should probably warn you, if Giles hasn't already, that Ethan Rayne is back in town."
