"'S a myth, legend, in our religion. Gods I can't believe I can remember this much, but I've had a lot of those," she said, nodding to the half empty crate. "Two guys, father and son, are trying to get off some island some son of Zeus had trapped them on.. least I think it was Zeus. Anyway, the father made them these wings to go on their arms, with feathers and wax, and they could fly. The father tells the son not to fly too close to the sun, but the kid does anyway. The wax melts, the wings fall apart, the kid falls into the sea and drowns."
She takes a long swig, and held up her arm, showing her the tattoo in the shape of a wing. "Apollo is Lee's callsign. The Sun God," she told Jaina. "And I got this tattoo when I married Sammy, the morning after I frakked Lee and told him I loved him. I can't get too close. I'm Icarus."
Her brow creased when Jaina told her stories. "Hey, I shouldn't hog all the misery and alcohol," she said. "You wanna take a turn bitching about men?" she asked. "Go ahead."
