She can feel his tension and hesitation. He must not get hugged very often, which just isn't right in her opinion. But when did her opinion really matter, in the greater scheme of things?
Then he is hugging her back, saying thanks, and she thinks he's going to cry.
Oh, my God. The poor guy...
And then Kitty does something that might have seemed stupid to anyone watching, but much like any of her 'superhero moments', she decides to just go with the flow.
She starts to rock him, gently, and though she doesn't have the best voice, and she's on the verge of crying, herself, she sings a few lines from a piece she's always liked...
"Cry if you want to, I wont tell you not to, I won’t try to cheer you up I'll just be here if you want me...
It’s no use in keeping a stiff upper lip, You can weep, you can sleep, you can loosen your grip, You can frown, you can drown, and go down with the ship, You cry if you want to. Don’t ever apologize venting your pain, It's something to me you don’t need to explain, I don’t need to know why I don’t think it’s insane You can cry if you want to..."
There are more words, but her voice runs out then.
Just as well. He probably thinks I'm some sort of fruit bar now...
