She hugged him tightly. "I know, Luke. I've been there. I've co-existed both with the burning pain and with the dull ache that comes after that. I know it's not easy. But you have to be strong, for yourself and for those around you. You ARE strong, Luke. This isn't going to break you. I saw how the other you coped with this pain and I know you'll do it too" she said, trying to comfort him. She hated to see him so broken up. "I know what you're going through, all the pain and sadness and bitterness you're experiencing, and I wished there was a way to sooth your wounds. But there's none. I guess I'm not doing such a great job in comforting you, but the only thing that will help you is time. It'll ease the pain a bit, although it will never be able to send it away.
