There really was no reason for him to be up on a Sunday morning, none at all, and yet, there he was strolling down the hall into the lobby, already having lit up a cigarette as he decided that maybe it wasn't too early for a drink. Or maybe he could go see Dawn. He did just pass her room, after all. Buffy, even for that matter. He could even look up that girl, Kitty was her name. He liked her.
However all thoughts either way went out his head as he paused just inside the lobby, taking in the fact that there was a very pink and fluffy bed with a lot of things one it, dead centre in the library. New arrival, he thought instantly, rolling his eyes and deciding that if he made a quick u-turn, then wouldn't even know he'd been -
But then they spoke, and Spike would recognise that voice anywhere. It had fucking well annoyed him on more than enough occasions in the past. Slightly disbelieving and raising an eyebrow to show that, he really couldn't help the fact that he blurted out, "You? You solved a puzzle?"
He'd probably regret it later. Maybe. He wasn't exactly sure yet, and it really depended on how he felt after this conversation.
