Daphne watched as Melinda pulled out a small stand and tapped it with her wand to make it grow. As she listened to Melinda, Daphne realized that she really knew nothing about the girl. Most of the time, when it came to girls that generally stuck around her sister, Daphne kept her distance. It wasn't that she resented girls that were her sister's friend, she just figured if they're friends with Astoria, they are more than likely, like her just as well. The few words Daphne has exchanged with Melinda would say otherwise, but then again, Daphne rarely paid attention to who she was talking to.
"Especially with how cramped the common room can get, and how much I loathe sitting around there when it's crowded. Merlin knows, there's always the threat of Crabbe or Goyle bumbling about there, smashing up what they can." Just the thought made Daphne pull her violin a little closer to herself.
"How smart," Daphne replied to the charm her cousin helped her with during her second year, "I rarely have sheet music, I wanted to see what my father sent me." Placing her violin down on a desk, Daphne plucked the levitating pieces of paper from where they were and organized them. "Sadly, my father doesn't know that much about music, and didn't realize this is meant for more than one violin, a cello and a viola." Scoffing, Daphne held out the music for Melinda to see, if she wished.
