Who: Melinda, Daphne
When: Monday, after classes.
Where: Hogwarts, unused classroom.
What: Practicing.
Rating: TBD, likely low.
Open/Closed: Closed (Let me know if this doesn't work for you, and I'll edit!)
Melinda had learned the trick of finding space to practice in her first year. She'd been terrified of annoying anyone with it, and hadn't been at all adept with silencing charms yet, at that age. But she'd figured out quickly that Hogwarts was a big place, and that so long as you weren't in a forbidden area, or out after hours, no one minded if you spent an hour or two in one of the unused classrooms. She'd gotten much better with silencing charms, but Melinda still liked to find somewhere quiet, where no one else would watch.
Of course, she wasn't the only one looking for an isolated spot, so sometimes she stumbled across someone else. (Or someones. If she had to pick one thing about being a Prefect that she hated the most, breaking up couples in the middle of makeouts on rounds would probably have been it. It was humiliating, and always left whoever she'd walked in on looking either embarrassed or furious. Or both.)
Usually, as soon as she realized someone else was there Melinda headed the other way, when she wasn't on rounds. But as she headed toward the room she favored for practice, she heard the sound of music already being played. She didn't want to intrude, but she peeked through the door quietly.
Or she meant to be quiet. The violin case she was carrying brushed up against the door with a soft thump that was only just loud enough to carry into the room. Melinda apologized hurriedly as she spotted Daphne, who was already playing. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to disturb you."
