"I don't mind pride." She said, tapping her fingernails on the table. Really, in her line of work she encountered more people who were self concious or had such a skewed view of self worth that she was totally ready to handle an evening with someone who believed in their work. "I'd take arrogance over self-pity any day of the week."
Max leaned back in her chair and took another drink, unconsciously mirroring his actions. It was nice, having this kind of a conversation with someone who wasn't prone to...well, who wasn't Nik Troy. Sweet fellow that he was, he did have the tendency to ramble on about things no one cared about.
"I've hit a bit of a snag, actually, with my research." She explained. "Testing..."
