WHO: Daphne Greengrass & OPEN.
WHERE: A small little nook by a window on the third floor.
WHEN: After dinner.
RATING: TBD - probably going to be low.
Daphne wasn't quite ready to return back to the common room after dinner. Most of the chatter going on during the meal was about the fliers that went out during the night, and the tension and finger pointing that it caused. Guilty by association never meant much to her until she noticed all the glares being shot towards the Slytherin table during the meal. It was enough for even a girl like her - who didn't typically care about what others thought about her - to feel uncomfortable. It was the stares and whispers that made her annoyed more than anything else. Seated at a window sill, the book on Daphne's lap went about untouched as she instead was staring out the window and towards the edge of the grounds, and more importantly the gate to the path that led to Hogsmeade. She half pondered pulling out her journal and writing Miles a message, but she decided against it when she remembered what happened the previous night and how she seemed to upset him.
Instead, a small open locket rested on a cushion by her knee, and her wand methodically waved in motion with the tune that seemed to be playing from it. The spell on the locket was a simple musical spell, it was the notes of the famous cello suite that made it complex. Like a conductor waving her baton, Daphne's mind might have been elsewhere, but her wand kept beat and tempo. Her own violin case was by her feet, forgotten about for the time being as she instead enjoyed the peace and serenity of the music coming out of her locket.
All this matter of muggleborns and undesirables had Daphne's mind occupied. Of course she saw the list, just like all the other students. Daphne didn't put much thought into the names - she could care less about who was named - what had her curious was the message below that. We Are Watching. What does that even mean? Most of those names, Merlin, she couldn't point them out in a line-up of students at school, why would someone put so much effort and thought into watching a group of - in her mind - nobodies? It didn't make a lot of sense, and frankly, Daphne didn't want to understand it. She just wanted to know who was watching, and if it was Death Eaters, what was being done to prevent them from infiltrating the school more than just fliers went. Maybe Hogwarts wasn't as safe as everyone truly believed it to be?
