WHO: Susan Bones, Madam Pomfrey & Ernie Macmillan.
WHAT: Susan is having a bit of an anxiety attack after receiving a package.
WHEN: BACKDATED: Friday evening, after this.
WHERE: The Hufflepuff dormitories.
RATING: PG-13 for graphic imagery. I can't see it going above an R.
Susan could feel her heart pounding out of her chest. It was getting harder to breath, and she struggled to latch the window closed as she sent her owl out of the dormitory window to fly to the Auror office. She made every effort to avoid looking at the parcel on her bed, and just went to sit on a chair at the opposite end of the room. Madam Pomfrey would be here momentarily, and even Ernie said he would be by. Biting down on her bottom lip, Susan stared down at her hands which were visibly shaking. Inhaling deeply, she looked around the empty dormitory, trying to find something else to concentrate on. Anything else to concentrate on.
Unfortunately her gaze kept drifting to the dirty parcel on her bed. Standing back up, she moved over to the bed, and snatched up the letter that came with the box. Staring at it once more, she moved back to the other side of the room. Susan didn't know what to do. The threat seemed so distant in her mind. The person who sent it didn't even have the courage to sign their name. Her family was so used to idle threats that it just seemed useless to write such things. What disturbed her more than anything was the bloody hand in the box. Reading over the small sentence six more times, she swore that the message was forever burnt into her memory.
There were no tears for this Hufflepuff. Maybe it was the shock that kept her from breaking down completely. With her pulse still ringing in her ears and her hands shaking and her breath heavy and anxious, Susan could only wait for Madam Pomfrey to show up, or for Ernie to get to the dorms. Her family... Susan had confidence that her family was safe. It was all she could hope for as she sat back down on the chair and waited. Staring at the letter, memorizing every single curvature in the letters, the sentence structure and each period, comma and dash.
