"The Ministry of Magic would like to welcome everybody to this evening's lecture by Ambassador Khakhua Tagoga Yauwii Dobunaba." Percy stood at the podium, facing the audience, though this was the last place he wanted to be. Actually, there were a number of things he rather would be doing, but unfortunately, he was stuck with yet another night with the witch doctor. Like previous lectures, he'd be translating for Ambassador Togoga and in general, facilitating the lecture.
It's going to be such a relief when this is over!, Percy thought as he smiled out at the crowd, putting on a professional face.
"Tonight," Percy continued, as if everything was going along, swimmingly, "Khakhua Togoga would like to demonstrate the Healing techniques from his native land that he's been describing. He would like to have a volunteer from the audience."
Togoga stood close by, with his painted face and feathered headdress. He leaned upon a short staff, also decorated with feathers, which he held in his hand. With dark, piercing eyes, he looked out into the crowd and wondered if anybody would actually volunteer to be the subject of his treatment, considering the reputation he had among these English. If nobody volunteered, he decided that he'd use Percy, though he hadn't forewarned his guest of his decision. If there was anybody in need of his attentions, it would be Percy.
