Who: Zekk and Calliope
Where: His home on the outskirts of town, in the woods
When slightly backdated to January 20
Rating: TBD?
Why: Because Zekk needs to get used to voicing his concerns about all the things instead of internalizing them.
The powerful loss that the Light felt with Skywalker's death had physically struck Zekk, a man committed to maintaining the balance, the sole Warden of this area of the world. Calliope was so new to his world that he hadn't wanted her to see him so distressed and frustrated. That was the weird thing about the Grey Wardens. Foster it but don't let it control you. Don't fool yourself that the darkness will lead you anywhere deeper than more darkness. Don't pretend taking that step to the Light will not immerse you in it entirely. Jo Li had taught him, in theory, how to cope with the feelings that came with a loss of balance, but it was almost poetically so that he had to actually deal with it now that his teacher was dead.
Zekk had tried to be good, but his anger had gotten the better of him for a moment, hence the obvious post he'd made, when he rarely interacted with the community in such a way. It hadn't been the best idea because, as he'd given Calliope her method of expression, he'd seen it. Damn it all, he hadn't been ready to be left to this task alone. He didn't want her to worry, and he didn't want Ren to think he was weak. He'd somehow fucked both those things up in one go.
So it was making up time. Freshly showered and dressed again in his usual attire, he peered into the living room, looking for her.
"Calliope? I've taken my five plus seconds!"
