Derek had been stuck here for a while, but he really wasn't as worried about it as he should have been. Other than Cora not being here he wasn't worried about much else. The one good thing about not being back home was missing out on all the Holiday stuff. He wasn't the type to celebrate the season...at least not anymore. Ever since the fire he hadn't really had the desire to celebrate much of anything, because he didn't have anyone to celebrate it with. Even with getting Cora and Peter back that hadn't changed much, but only because they both seemed to feel the same way he did. It was just too painful to do anything that brought up the memories of everything they had lost, and nothing brought those memories back like the holidays. Sure there were people here celebrating, but it was on a much smaller scale. So, he could deal with it. If worse came to worse he could go out and run in the woods. For the moment though he was going to attempt to be a joiner. He needed to speak with Allison....make sure she was okay, and see if there were any of the others here. He wasn't sure when he had started to care so much about the few younger residents of Beacon Hills, but it had certainly caught him by surprise. He wouldn't change it though. It wound up being a lot of work, but he had never been the type to run away from a challenge. He made his way through the camp, looking for Allison. Finding her first seemed like the way to go, because if any of the others were here she would be the one to know. As he made his way down the pathways he studied each corner, wanting to make sure there was little to no chance of him accidentally walking past her. There was a nervous look on his face as he moved around the camp, but of course he wouldn't admit it was because he was worried. Most of the people in his life thought of him as some kind of monster with no feelings. They were either scared of him or they avoided him, which usually was fine with him. But lately they had gotten under his skin a little more, and he found that it was only getting harder to hold in his emotions. Sure he could still keep himself under control, but he more and more he was worried about them. When he finally spotted her a smile came to his lips and a sigh of relief escaped him. He pushed those feelings down before he approached her. He had always given Scott such a hard time for caring about her, so it kind of made him feel like a hypocrite or something for caring about what happened to her. He knew it wasn't right for him to feel that way though. She should be kept safe. It wasn't her fault what family she had been born into and she had proven more than once that she wasn't like her family. Sure she had made a few mistakes, but in the end she had always came through and proven herself to be fair and open minded. Derek pushed those thoughts aside, deciding not to over think it. "Hello Allison" he said, once he had finally made his way over to her. |
