So for those of us who bother to read the paper (you'd be foolish not to these days, but Hogwarts isn't absent of fools), there's probably been a flurry of owls flying here, there and everywhere as our classmates react with dismay to the front page news. I'm one of the last to complain about education being taken seriously, but this seems rather extreme? And we all know from a couple of years ago just how much She Of The Pink Ribbons And Kittens cares about quality curriculum content.
Hopefully she won't have her claws into things as much this time around. Although if she does come and "observe" classes yet again, Transfiguration will be a riot. I think McGonagall may actually breathe fire at her this time around.
Mum's getting worked up about her book again. I'm weighing up the pros and cons of relocating my library permanently to the Three Broomsticks, just for the relative peace and quiet.
Regards,
P.S. Please give Nero a treat when he gets to yours. He's all right with owl treats. Just don't let him see the packaging, as he considers himself above them. It could be worse - ravens in the wild eat amphibians.
Dear Dylan,
And just when we were considering skiving off from NEWTs and getting a job rounding up rogue Muggleborns or something. What do you think of the front page item in this morning's paper? I just sent Nero off with a long message to Ursula stating my usual admiration of Umbridge's hair pieces. Considering that it doesn't alter my plans for next year in the slightest, it shouldn't be irritating me as much as it does. I know that logically.
Regards,
P.S. I say "this morning's paper" like we get more than one...
Dear Terry,
So, what's your theory on the front page item this morning? Three scrolls minimum on what NEWT mark you would give Umbridge's choice in hair accessories, and why. Do you think this means she'll be gracing the staffroom with her presence once more? Will there be an Educational Decree making pink cardigans a mandatory part of our Hogwarts uniform?
Regards,
P.S. Ursula and Dylan got a P.S. I didn't want you to feel slighted in case you compared notes later.
