Welcome and goals post
Hello fitskimos!
Since several of us seem to be doing or considering fitness things, I thought it might be nice to revive this community as a place of mutual support, progress reports, moaning, and whip-swinging (as required). Whether you prefer the gym, a daily run, a home-based workout or some other exercise regime, the idea is that although we'll be doing different things at different times, this is a place to come for some cheerleading when you need it, some stern pressuring when you need THAT, and anything else we might want to discuss about fitness and health (which can include anything from favourite workout music to specific diets, etc.). Sometimes just knowing that you have a place where you can tell friends about that stupid looming workout can be exactly the push you need to actually DO IT.
A few years ago, when we used this place for the C25K running challenge, we had daily check-in posts, and I think that format might suit us for this new fitness endeavour too - obviously you don't have to work out every day if that isn't your regime, but that way we can get into a habit of coming here a few times a week and cheer each other on or get some motivation. If you're coming to check in and there isn't a post for that day yet, please make one, I don't plan to be particularly modly! Also please do start any fitness-related topics or discussions that may tickle your fancy.
For starters, I thought we could give each other a quick idea of what our current fitness goals are (whether it's just getting back into a routine or work on a specific body part, eat healthier, or whatevs), and what each of us wants out of this community... I think we all know each other well enough that we don't need to lay down specific rules, but just be respectful of each other's goals and processes (like, if someone's specified that negative pressure doesn't work for them, don't tell them to "drop and give me 30, you maggot-bellied weakling!" :p). Let's have it in the comments, and then... LET'S DO THE THING!
