Storyline Ideas!
Hi guys, it's Karissa. I have a four week old which means I keep all kinds of fun hours now so I should be easy to reach basically all the time. My character, Danny Lynch, is a 39 year old mechanic and felon. Between incarcerations he always found work in garages around the country. He learned the ins and outs of all things mechanical, including vehicles, growing up on his family's farm local to the town. They were always barely scraping by so keeping things running was something they did themselves and it wasn't always done with proper parts. He could get something running with a little bit of WD-40 and chewing gum if he had to so actually having the parts to work with makes being a mechanic in a shop easy street as far as he's concerned.
ANYWAY he came back home a few months ago after getting out of lock up for what he hopes was the last time, thinking he might have a better chance of keeping himself in line here than he would anywhere else. He was prepared to deal with whatever remained of the rowdy crowd he used to run with, the bigger troublemaker/bad influence he used to run on the heels of and try to impress, and the ex wife who divorced him when they were young during his first stay in prison, and the brother (or sister, I'm flexible!) he abandoned the family's dying farm to, but he was REALLY hoping not to have to deal with the town still side eyeing him about the March fire because it'd been sixteen years buuut yeah. Small towns!
Growing up, Danny was a comically tall, scrawny thing, just trying to keep up with the local cool guys. He was seventeen and more interested in getting into trouble than helping around the farm when the March fire happened. A string of minor and less minor arsons attributed to him around that time (old barns, abandoned cabins, dilapidated outhouses) + other delinquent behavior part of a raging teenage rebellion + an alibi that didn't hold water made him look pretty suspicious but nothing was ever found to truly connect him to the crime so he was never convicted. He left town 6/7 years later at the age of 23, anyway, because he got locked up for something unrelated to the fire and when he was released sometime after that he just never came back home.
Now he's older, way beefier and just trying to keep his head (mostly) down while he works at the local garage. I'd love to find old friends, new friends, old friends who are also new friends, old not-friends who have become friends, old friends who are now not-friends, a brother or sister who may or may not be extremely bitter about being ditched with the farm, the ex wife from when he was young'n, people who believe he got away scot-free with the March fire/people who believe otherwise, and I'm open to the idea of him having parented a child at some point before he left that he may or may not be aware of and who may or may not be his ex wife's.
God, I'm wordy. Sorry about it! I didn't mean to write an intro, it just happened. :X Let me know if anything sings to you!
