[ Layton is known to be good at a lot of things; teaching, fencing, archaeology, being a gentleman, and especially puzzles. Yes, he's a man of many talents and the London Times always brings up these points in their articles when the great Professor Layton solves yet another mystery. However, he does have his many shares of things he's terrible at. Things such as knowing if he's angering someone and if it's his fault, being taller than 5'3", moving on from the past, and figuring out what kind of present he should get for someone, especially if that someone is his boyfriend. ]
[ Yes, it takes Layton a heck of a long time to choose the right gift for any special occasion on whenever it's a birthday, Christmas, wedding, just anything. It has taken him a good week and a half before he has thought of one for Claire all those many years ago and that has just been for a date. This is a gift for Xanxus' birthday, so he wants to make this a really special gift, something that can be easily remembered. Therefore to say the least, this has taken Layton weeks before he has chosen just the right one, but thankfully for him, "every puzzle has an answer". ]
[ Shortly after having lunch in bed (since Layton has allowed Xanxus to sleep in for a bit on his birthday), he supposes this is a good time to bring out his gift. But first: ]
