So...Two Hot Chicks Are Sitting in a Bar
Who: Chloe and Faith
Where: Eden
When: Thursday Night
At the bar at Eden, Chloe Van Warren had slipped over to grab a soda. Suicide Messiah had just finished a set about an hour earlier, and while the rest of the girls had gone their separate ways, Chloe had grabbed a quick shower and returned to get her sugar on. As usual. Hardly her normal glamorous self, she had thrown her hair back into a loose ponytail, and was wearing black shorts and a blue Daylight Dies t-shirt, as she gulped a large glass of Coke like was the elixir of life.
Faith had been watching the band for the night. According to news through the Slayer grapevine, Ben's new girl was the rhythm guitarist in the band. Definitely hot, especially for being undead. Nothing Faith couldn't compete with if she didn't want to, though. Still, let the bastard have another amoral person. Maybe she'll luck out and the vampire would eat him. Oh well. After everyone had started splitting, Faith hung around for a while, sipping on a drink at the bar that she had convinced the bartender to give to her even though her ID was 'in her other jeans.' Seriously, boys were so easy to manipulate.
Chloe, who was sitting a few feet from Faith, grinned her infectious, sugar-induced grin at the bartender, and sang out in her adorable voice, "Moooooore Coke please! CHLOE NEEDS SUGAR!" She was fidgety as usual, already drumming on the bar top a little with her index fingers.
Faith grinned when she heard the over-sugared drummer demand more soda down the bar from her. "Gotta love a girl who knows what she wants and is willing to ask for it," she said to her, turning toward Chloe.
Chloe looked over and grinned at the girl. She looked vaguely familiar, but that was about it. "Damn skippy! Keep yer drugs and alcohol... just give meeee sugar."
"Can't knock a girl for liking what she likes," Faith said, raising up her glass slightly. She took a sip of it. "Margaritas have a lot of sugar in them as well, though."
"I'm Chloe." She said, sticking her hand out to the other woman. She wasn't sure if she'd seen the show or not.
"I'm Faith," Faith said, shaking the other girl's hand. "Great show tonight, by the way."
"Oh! Thanks. New place for us, and we're trying to play a buncha new places before we kinda gotta take a break for a few months. Well, the rest of the girls do. Not me. Cuz, I'm in two bands now. But still. Yeah, we're cramming now." She was in a sugary ramble, her eyes bright and her smile brighter.
"Why are you guys taking a break?" Faith asked. They didn't seem like they were breaking up or anything like that.
"Skylar, the singer? She's juuuuust a lil' bit preggers." Chloe said with a giggle. "In a bit, she'll need to take a break to do the mommy thing, then she'll be back. Thank god I have a second gig, or else I'd go freakin' nuts."
"So, you got a second gig? Mind sharing with a fan as to which shows I need to be catching instead?" Faith asked her.
"You know Daylight Dies?" She asked with a little bit more fidgeting, her foot shaking a bit.
"Seriously? Who doesn't know that band in LA?" They were pretty much the most popular band in LA at the moment.
"Well, they had a lil' bit of a shakeup. Changing the name and a few members. And IIIIIIIII'm their brand spankin' new drummer!" She said proudly.
"Well, congratulations," Faith said to her, actually sounding sincere. "What's their new name?"
"Broken Sunrise." She said with a proud giggle, taking a long sip of her new glass of Coke. Not that she hadn't considered alcohol in copious amounts, as she tried to deal with her feelings for Skylar.
"Well, I'll certainly keep that band name in mind to look for," Faith told her, finishing off her drink. She shook her head when the bartender offered to get her another one.
Chloe looked at her and grinned. Certainly a sexy girl... looked like she could beat the hell out of her though. "I'm trying to figure out why you look so familiar!"
Faith was pretty sure why she recognized her. "Ever play at Avarice? I kind of used to date the owner over there."
"Oh man! Ben?" She blinked, speaking without really thinking first. "Wow... has he been with every hot girl in town?"
"I think that's his ultimate goal," Faith said. "We weren't exclusive, but let's just say that he is involved with something that I can't really forgive, and leave it at that for now." As much as she'd love to, she didn't really figure that sullying his reputation to a gal in a band would really do her any good.
Chloe gave Faith a little grin and set her chin on her hand, looking at her again. "I love your accent... Boston?"
"Yep, I hailed from there before coming out here to LA," Faith told her. She ordered herself a soda this time, actually. "I ran off after the third or so foster home turned out to be a dump."
"Ouch... sorry to hear that." Chloe's parents were a little... flighty, but never lacked in the love department. She was trying to flirt, but... well, was terrible at it.
"Eh, I'm over it," Faith told her with a slight shrug. "It's the past, and I'm done with the past."
"Well, good! Because the past is in the past. And the future, well... that's still to come!" Hey, to her it sounded profound.
"You're speaking some truth there, babe," Faith said, finishing off the last of her drink.
"You kind of remind me of my friend Meredith." She said as she realized how much alike they seemed to be. "Well, except she doesn't really tan or do much besides play guitar and have the sex."
Ah, the rhythm guitarist. So that was her name. "Strangely, I'm not that shocked," Faith said with a nod. Ben didn't exactly know how to branch out. Besides, who was he going to end up with? A socialite?
"She's with Ben now. Funny enough, I think he fancied Skylar for a while... but he knows she'd sooner stab him than screw him."
"So I've heard," Faith said, both about Meredith being with Ben and Skylar wanting to stab him in the face with a silver stake. Slayer secrets didn't stay so for long, after all. "I'm surprised he's still walking and breathing, honestly."
"Oooo. You've heard about that? Yeah. Well... if that's the case? Let's just say I'm surprised Meredith is still with us."
"Really?" Now that was interesting. Seemed that Skylar's sister seemed to like anything that was supernatural, it seemed. Even had a taste for Slayers.
"Yeeeaaaah." Chloe snickered and shook her head. "At least for now though, our guitarist still lives."
"I'm sure that your guitarist will be fine for the time being. Decent musicians are actually pretty hard to find in LA, so I hear." Faith herself couldn't sing a lick or play one thing on an instrument.
Chloe polished off her Coke, and looked eagerly to the bartender for another before looking back to Faith. "Well, decent friends even more so. And Meredith, well... she tends to think more with her cootchie than her head, but she's a good person."
Faith laughed. She could definitely relate to that quite a bit. "I'm sure that she'll be fine." Vampires were pretty good at keeping themselves alive.
"So, you're gonna come see my new band too, right?" Chloe grinned and her eyes sparkled.
"Of course I'm going to come and see your new band," Faith said with a smile and a wink, "Wouldn't miss it for the world."
