Overcoming the Evil Urge
Who: Lucy and Ash
Where: Their Home
When: March 16th, Right after this scene
Lucy was sitting at home, working on a particular hard set of chords for one of her songs. While she had written and recorded it, she wanted to make sure that she would be able to play it flawlessly live, so she was basically practicing it over and over again so that she could seamlessly play through it. She was so ready for the album to come out and start playing stuff live. It was going to be SO sweet!
Ash... well.... we all KNOW how HIS night had gone. He came straight home from Eden, slamming the door behind him as he entered the house, heading straight toward his bookshelf, eyes turning... black again. Uh-oh.
It actually took Lucy a second to realize that he had gotten in. It wasn't the first time that she had gotten lost in music, after all. When she did realize that he was there, and something was definitely up, she set her guitar aside and walked over to him. "Ash? Is everything OK?"
"No. Not at all, actually." Yeah... when Ash didn't even walk over to greet her? Something was VERY wrong. Instead, he grabbed a book on reincarnation, and sat right down on his favorite recliner, face stone serious.
And she followed him. "OK, whatever is going on, you have to tell me. You can't just...shut off like some Mr....shutting off person, OK? Be straight with me." She was obviously already getting frustrated and worried.
"Lucy... right now I'm just looking for a reason, ANY reason, to not murder a possibly innocent person right now. So it's making me... a bit intense." A bit? Really Ash? REALLY?
"Yeah well, doesn't mean you get to shut me and out and not tell me just what in the hell is going on, OK?" Her cursing? Showing just how freaked out she really was. "PLEASE talk to me, Ash. What are you talking about?"
"I believe the vampire that murdered you has been reincarnated in the body of a young girl. And if I believe that monster has ANY chance of taking over her? I will destroy her with extreme prejudice." Yikes. Evil!Ash? Not too far from this...
"Ash...you can't kill someone just because of what you FEAR they are going to become," Lucy tried to point out to him. "Come on. If that were the case, someone probably would have tried to put you down a long time ago, right?"
"I will not let that bitch destroy anyone else the way she destroyed you. The way..." he closed his eyes and growled, "the way she destroyed ME."
"Ash...I'm still here. YOU'RE still here. Why are you so scared of something happening again?" She pushed the book out of his hands and hugged him. "You can't be afraid of what might happened. I don't want to lose you to your own darkness because you're afraid something might happen to me."
"Lucy... I.... what if that evil.... THING is just waiting there, to hurt someone else? She's had dreams about when I burned her alive... clearly she;s in there somewhere..." He muttered, looking a little frantic there.
Lucy shook her head. "Then HELP the girl. Don't just think of killing her outright. Find a way to banish what was Michele away and let that girl live a normal life. There's GOT to be a way if it's like, a recent thing that she got into this girl's body. Maybe it's kind of like a possession or something, you know? Not everything needs straight up death, you know?"
This? Was why Ash needed Lucy. She was the GOOD influence in his life. "If... it would make you happy... I'll see what I can do. But considering I more or less threatened to murder her if she ever crossed me... I don't see her being willing to hear me out now."
"Gotta be some way that you can get through to her. Maybe an intermediary? Someone saying that you won't totally burn her again if she comes near you?" Lucy suggested. There had to be some way for this to work out with as little death as possible involved.
"I.... will try." Oh, good, Ash. You'll TRY to not kill an innocent girl.
Considering that she knew that no one else would even be able to get THAT much out of him, she'd take it for right now. She leaned over and gave him a hug again, nuzzling against his neck.
"God, this is hard for me, Luce..." He admitted, sighing loudly. "I still get so... insane over you."
She sat up and leaned forward and kissed him. "I know," she said to him. "I really do. Just...talk to me when you get upset, OK? You can't go all bottle up and run off and do crazy stuff, OK?"
"I'll... try." He finally said with a sigh, trying his best to give a litle. "I can't help it... when it comes to anything involving you... I tend to get a little crazy." Gee, ya think?
"I know...and I'm not exactly Miss Nice and Easy when it comes to you, either, but you can't go jumping all over girls because of something they really don't have any control over," Lucy said to him. "There's got to be some way to help her that's not taking off her head."
"We'll see. Part of me would still prefer to see her dead. But... for you? I can try." Anyone think Ash is a little nutty? ANYONE?
