Late Night Flat-Mate Conversation
Who: Rhys and Joshua
Where: Their Apartment
When: Thursday Morning, about 2 a.m. 1/20
Joshua had just gotten in from a long night 'at the office' so to speak. His team had been sent out to take out a nest of vampires who had taken up residence in an abandoned building in one of the poorer neighborhoods, and people had been disappearing a lot more there. Of course, as soon as you take out one nest, another one crops back up in its place, like some nasty Hydra that also happens to drink blood instead of...doing whatever the hell Hydras do other than hanging out in water and growing back heads. With a sigh, Joshua flopped down onto the sofa, wanting to get up and get something to drink from the fridge, take a shower, or at least take off his gear, but not quite having the energy to do any of those things just yet.
Rhys only cut back once or twice a month in all honesty (since he liked to keep his buff physique), which was why (since last night was his night off), he went out drinking and picked up. Always a light sleeper he heard Joshua enter the apartment, he mumbled something to his recent conquest and kissed her on the temple before rolling out of bed and putting on a pair of Y-front briefs. He plodded out into the living room. "Well, you're still alive. That's good. You want a beer or something?" He asked as he moved into the kitchen.
As soon as Rhys came out, Joshua was certain that he had a girl in the bedroom. Awesome. "Sure," he said as Rhys headed over to the kitchen. "That would be great." He cast a glance back toward Rhys's bedroom. "Got company?" he asked.
"Yeah. Cute blonde little thing that I met at Avarice," Rhys replied as he quickly washed his hands. "She's dead to the world, if that's what you're worried about." He fetched them each a beer and gave one to Joshua as soon as he reentered the living room. He located some sweatpants and quickly put them on before sitting down, as well.
Joshua laughed when Rhys said that she was dead to the world. "Not quite worried about it at all," he admitted. "Too damn tired to be worried about much of anything," he said, taking a sip of the beer that was handed to him.
"Ah. Well past the point of exhaustion, I see," Rhys replied with a chuckle. "Everything went alright, I take it?"
Joshua nodded. "Yeah, things went fine. Cleaned out another nest. Bigger than we were expecting, though." He took another swig of his beer. "That's kind of what took so damn long. Chasing down the stragglers."
"That's always fun," Rhys replied with a chuckle and a roll of his eyes. While Rhys could be a tad reckless in his personal life, he took his job very seriously, so he took no joy in chasing down ... evil-doers. "You got any plans this weekend?"
"Delightful fun even," Joshua said with a roll of his own eyes. "And yeah. I actually have a date."
"You little slut," Rhys said with a brief laugh. "Who is he?" Okay, now that was just mean... He couldn't help himself, though. "Alright, alright. SHE. Who is she?"
Joshua snorted. "Her name's Abbi," he answered simply. "Met her at Avarice." Which he'd met his last two girls at, too, so, if this one didn't work out, then he wasn't going to date anyone he met at a club ever again afterward.
"Abbi," Rhys repeated. "Sounds like a cute name, and you know that she's got good taste in music, if she was at Avarice." This was Rhys trying to be nice now. "What does she look like?"
"She looks...like a cheerleader, honestly, which is good because she is one." He decided not to mention that she was a senior and a high school cheerleader, though. Rhys would run wild with something like that.
He really, truly would, too. "Duuude, nice! If we were sitting closer, I'd high five you right now." If Joshua was any other guy, Rhys might have asked something vulgar like 'did you tap that yet?' but he knew Joshua's sensibilities now not to bother asking. "That, and I'm just lazy, but good on you. I'm glad you're 'out there'."
He was glad that Rhys seemed to know to not ask him if he had 'tapped' anything. He had been brought up to be a gentleman, after all. "Yeah, I'm out there," he said with a roll of his eyes. "Not staying in at all."
"Considering there was a pool in favor of you being a hermit? Yeah. It's a good thing," Rhys chuckled, taking a final swig of his beer before setting it on a coaster on the table. "You want anything before I go back to bed, since I'm in a generous mood?"
Joshua snorted when Rhys said that there was a pool going to see if he would become a hermit. "Well, if you'd had the luck I had, you might consider it, too," he joked. Not that he really would, at least not on purpose. He took another sip of his beer. "Nah, I think I'm good. Go and enjoy your bed warmer."
"I think I just might," Rhys chuckled and hopped up, moving over to his bedroom. "Promise not to wake you TOO early." He joked.
