Buddy Bonding
Who: Andrew and Dawn
Where: Avarice
When: Dec. 29th, Evening
Andrew sat in Avarice, drumming his fingers lightly on the table as he drank his coke and listened to the music. Amazingly enough, he actually enjoyed some of the music that was played here. He kind of preferred Eden, but occasionally the music crossed into both clubs. He figured that this would be a night alone for him, actually. Cassie was spending some extra time at the store tonight, doing inventory with Bette, so he would be without his girlfriend.
Meanwhile, almost directly in front of him, on the dance floor, a curvy, busty young thing had made her way out there, in what amounted to black stockings, black heels, and a red... thing... that could best be described as a mix of a miniskirt, lingerie, and a corset. Her pale skin was perfect, and other than the red lips, the long brown hair bouncing around made it difficult to see her face. But damn... for a white girl? She had some rhythm.
It actually took him a few seconds to realize who that was. Her hair was in her face and he couldn't be sure. However, once he did, he couldn't help but get up and go over to her. "Holy...Dawn?" he asked over the music, tapping her on the shoulder when he got to her.
She spun around then, all that rhythm GONE as she quickly turned back into dorky old Dawn Summer, nearly knocking them BOTH out as their heads clanked together when she spun around. "OWWWWW!!!!"
This would be funny if it didn't HURT so damn bad! "Ow!" he said right back, instantly reaching for the spot where she slammed into his head. "Sorry about that!"
"Hey Andrew! What're you doing here? Don't see ya here too often..." She said with that big grin of hers. "You here by yer lonesome tonight?" She asked, as if entirely unaware of how, well... AMAZING she looked.
Apparently she was, nor was she observant of the fact that Andrew was all but drooling on her shoes at this point. "Um...Cassie had some inventory to do tonight and I wasn't in the mood to sit at home alone," he said after a moment. "I mean, I usually kind of prefer Eden, but this place is still pretty good. I didn't realize you came here that often."
"Recently, yeah. Just... trying to have fun, maybe make some new friends. I mean... with you and Cassie so busy running the store, I don't get to see you guys much anymore, and most of my friends at school graduated last year, making me roughly the most friendless senior in school..." She laughed, not really sad or anything... just in a weird place socially.
"Sorry about that...you know you're always welcome to come by the place and hang out," he said to her. He hadn't exactly meant to get super busy or anything. Plus, they tended to just be so exhausted by the time evening ran around. And that wasn't even counting training Satsu.
"Oh, I know..." She blushed a little, as she suddenly realized how she was dressed around someone who used to have an EPIC crush on her. "I just... I'm a geek, but more of a movie and book geek. I get a little out of my element around comics and stuff."
"Well, it's not hard to find someone to talk movies there with," he said to her. "Even ones that aren't Star Wars on occasion!" A very rare occasion, but still. More than one horror movie geek came in there. (Mere Delany even got her Fangoria magazines from there!)
"Still doing your... Watcher-stuff? I know Buffy's been super busy with Ash lately..." Ok, so she was trying to talk all normal so that he wouldn't look at her and think dirty thoughts, ok?
Probably a good idea. "Yeah, been working a lot with Satsu. That tends to keep me super busy and worn out, too." Which sounded a lot less dirty in his mind!
"Well... looking like that girl does, thank god she's gay, or Cassie would probably have a coronary with you spending so much time together." Dawn giggled, knowing how, well, hilarious Cassie was when she was freaking out.
"Well, it's kind of my job, too," Andrew pointed out with a shrug. "Plus I made the website that at least two Slayers found and came to us with. So, totally helping there." Such a dork. "Hopefully Cassie wouldn't get *too* freaked."
"Buffy's been really good with training lately... I think she's totally over Ash now thankfully. Of course, with a hunk like Kevin around, m'guessing that isn't a big deal anymore." Dawn laughed with a little blush.
"Well, that's good. That was kind of weird of her to date Ash for a little while," he said. Well, it was weird, since her sister had dated him way back when...and he kinda tried to kill Andrew once. Totally water under the bridge, though. "I think she's happy with who she's with now, most definitely." A good thing.
"...are you?" Dawn asked, not trying to be smart, just making sure he and Cassie were both happy.
He nodded. "I'm happy. Cassie and I both stay kind of busy, her with the store, me with store stuff and Watcher related stuff. But we're totally good, though." He looked at her. "Are you?"
"Yeah..." She said with a smile, "a little lonely, but otherwise great."
"Well...you're getting out, which is good," Andrew told her. "Not being all cooped up and not meeting people, plus you're always welcome to stop by the store if you want. Or just arrange hanging out outside of the store."
"Well... NOT what I meant, but.. Thank you." She blushed slightly, holding back a giggle. "I just need to meet someone. Like how you and Cassie have each other."
He nodded. "Thus the part of you getting out of the house for stuff other than school," he pointed out. "Although you may be better off meeting someone at a place like the coffee shop than a rock and metal club." Just an idea.
"Hey, who knows? Maybe I want a bad boy for once..." She giggled, as hey! Maybe she wanted some adventure in her life!
"Wasn't that kind of...well...Ash?" Andrew pointed out. He shrugged. "Either way, as long as you find someone who treats you good and you like, that's good, right?"
"Exactly. And I'm not going to just jump into something. I'm lonely... Not desperate." She clarified, showing that Summers strength.
He nodded. At least she seemed to have grown some discerning taste in the past few years, eh?
