Lena Makes a Friend
Who: Lena and Remy
Where: Eden
When: Sunday Night, 11/14
Lena glided into Avarice, content to spend another night people watching. Devon had been busy lately saving puppies from burning buildings or whatever he does in his spare time, and, other than joining the 21st century and doing a lot of texting back and forth, they hadn't been able to hang much lately. Lena had spent many of her night watching people in clubs and going home without killing anything. Good for her. She even occasionally held conversations with people now. It was all quite impressive. Tonight, she decided to go to Eden and do just that: watch people. She picked a seat at the bar and ordered herself a drink, thinking that tonight was going to be like many of the other nights.
Remy was the type who would rather go out than stay indoors alone, especially given his addiction – which he fought against on a daily basis, but like any recovering addict the temptation was always there. Which... went a ways to explain why he didn't allow himself to stay anywhere at any length of time alone. The temptation was strongest then. He ducked his head when he entered Eden, dressed in tight gray dress pants, a black silk dress shirt, and a matching gray jacket. He'd... just come from a wedding, the only difference being that he'd taken off his tie and slipped it in his jacket pocket and loosened a few buttons on his shirt. He looked... rather dashing, if he did say so himself. He smiled at a few people who seemed to recognize him, before making his way over to the bar for a drink.
Lena caught a glimpse of the handsome guitarist. While her taste in msuic was more classical than rock, she knew that he was famous for something. People wouldn't be reacting to him like they were if he wasn't. She gave him a smile as he sat down at the bar. "It looks like you have been somewhere fancy," she said to him.
Remy looked to Lena when she spoke to him, thinking that she looked rather attractive, if a little pale. Then again, he was a little pale himself (for entirely different reasons, obviously), so he wasn't one to judge. "A friend's wedding, actually," he replied with a charming smile. He'd stayed for some of the reception, but clearly ducked out early, given how completely sober he was. "It was very lovely."
"Weddings can be very lovely sometimes," she said with a smile. Of course, they could also be terribly boring or sad, depending on your temperament. "Seems like you had a good time, though."
"I did. I... personally don't see myself getting married anytime soon, but seeing happiness in others does give me hope, sometimes," he confessed, before remembering himself: "I'm Remy, by the way."
"Lena," she said to him. "Marriage isn't all that it's cracked up to be. Make sure you find the right person before you even truly think about doing it." And there was her advice on the subject.
"Indeed," he chuckled. He'd yet to meet a woman who had made him consider settling down, unfortunately... Well, there was one woman that he loved unconditionally but she was with someone else now. Ah. Such is life. "May I ask you a question, Lena? Apart from that one, of course."
She gave him a smile. "Sure, go ahead," she said to him. She could only guess as to what the question might be.
"Do people often comment about your eyes? There's something... hauntingly beautiful about them," he said. He wasn't flirting here so much as being honest, although he couldn't help it but think that was an awfully lot more forward than he usually approached conversation with a member of the fairer gender.
She chuckled. "From time to time they do," she said to him. Well, wasn't he a bit forward? It certainly made for an interesting evening, even if she wasn't going to do more than talk to him. "Why do you ask?"
"It just seems to me that it's something that people should notice," he replied, before finally ordering a drink, momentarily forgetting the reason why he was there. "Then again, not all people recognize true beauty when they see it." He smiled then, bobbing his head. He was being completely genuine, but again... a lot more forward than he'd like. Maybe a drink would loosen him up?
She took a sip of a drink that she had ordered. "I don't talk to people all that much," she told him. "I'm...a little bit of a loner most nights." Of course, it was mainly for the benefit of others.
"Do you prefer it that way?" He asked curiously, tilting his head to the side to watch her expression. "If not, you're always welcome to talk to me, if I should happen to be around."
"I may have to take you up on that offer," she said with a smirk. "Some nights it's nice to have someone to chat with."
"I agree entirely," he replied. He rather got the impression she was seeing someone, so that might be why he didn't turn the charm on so much, hm?
It was good that he got that impression. A little harmless flirting aside, she was actually quite loyal when she was in a relationship. "I hope that I'm keeping you good company tonight then."
"Undoubtedly so," he replied, lifting his glass in small salute before taking a measured sip. "It's rare to find someone so genuinely engaging." Maybe that was another reason he hadn't settled down. Who knew?
"You're keeping me good company as well," she said to him. Might as well butter him up a bit. He seemed like he could use it, after all. "And thank you."
He gave her a rare, genuine smile then. It seemed she'd caught him at a bit of an odd day. "You're welcome."
