You're Like a Big Sexy Leaf
Who: Jamie and Jason
Where: Regan High School Gym
When: Saturday Night, 4/17, Prom
Jamie walked into the gym with Jason on her arm. Yes, this might start something with Camille, but who cared. Technically, Jamie could bench press her if she really wanted to, but she was also going to graduate in a few months. Jamie still had another year, but it would be a year Camille-free. Also, she couldn't post pictures of little kids all over Jason's locker and say that's what she looked like.
She smiled up at Jason as her free hand smoothed down her dress. "Wow, everything in here is very...flower-y."
"Flower-y?" He asked, laughing at her rather odd choice of words. "Sometimes it's like you have a language allll your own, J." She *was* an odd girl... yet, combined with how hot she was... he found it surprisingly endearing.
"Yeah, well, what can you do? Writers, even wannabes like me, will invent their own language when real English or whatever doesn't work," she said to him with a smirk.
"Real English or whatever. Hemingway couldn't have put it better." And then? Because he really couldn't lie, "Or so I guess. I kinda guessed my way through Hemingway."
"People who swear by Hemingway are boring and possibly suicidal," Jamie said quickly. "So, what do you want to do first here?"
"Make out and at least try to pretend it's dancing?" He suggested with that little sideways grin that he knew drove all the girls crazy.
[20:22] lena7623: "How about we at least throw in a little actual dancing first?" Jamie suggested.
"Well... I guess. If you wanna be all old-fashioned." See, this? Is why he and Cassie hadn't worked out. Jason was a good guy... but Cassie made him feel like he had to act so... noble and perfect. And he liked to be a typical flirty, snarky teen athlete.
Well, Jamie had only ever kissed a guy, and she had only ever kissed one guy (who happened to be a vampire, but SHH! on that), so she just wasn't going to be the type to go and make out behind the bleachers. ""Then call me old fashioned," she said, smiling at him.
"I *suppose* I can live with that..." He said with a laugh, leading her to the dance floor. He looked over, and noticed Cassie was with Andrew, the guy he knew she really loved to begin with. THAT made him happy. He made a mental note to talk to the guy sometime. "You look great, by the way. Like a big, sexy leaf."
She laughed when he called her a big sexy leaf. "Wow, I don't believe I've ever been given such a wonderful compliment before," she said to him while laughing.
"I'm nothing if not a man with a way with words." He quipped, holding her close. He couldn't help but wonder why, for so long, he'd only had eyes for Camille when there were other attractive girls like Jamie and Cassie around. Maybe he was just finally growing up.
She her her arms around his shoulders as they started to dance. She was just glad that she had found a nice, normal guy whom she hoped that she could depend on. "That you are," she said back to him.
"Hard to believe I'll be done with high school in a few weeks. Then hopefully I can make a name for myself in college and get into the NFL..." Was he a little scared? Nervous? Damn right.
"Well, won't you just be lucky in a few weeks then?" she asked. She herself was definitely ready to be done with school. "I'm sure that you'll make a good name for yourself in college."
"I hope so. But right now? I'm just concerned with having fun. Here." He leaned in and placed a soft, innocent kiss on her. "With you."
She smiled at him. "Then that's what I'm concerned with as well."
"Damn..." He whistled as they held hands, "That's some grip you got, girl... maybe YOU should be into sports..."
"Sorry," she said, loosening her grip a little. "Guess sometimes I just don't know my own strength." Damn, she had to work on that.
For his part? He looked impressed. Big-time. "Maybe if I get into any scuffles, I should have you come bail me out, hm?" Hey, so Jason wasn't much of a fighter. He was a wide receiver, not a middle linebacker...
She laughed a little. "I was actually thinking about taking some self defense classes, so who knows?" It was her way of explaining her Slayer-ness to people, self defense classes.
"Is it wrong that part of my brain just pictures you fighting and gets kinda... smiley?" He laughed, finding the idea of her beating up another girl kind of hot.
"I'm not sure that it's wrong," Jamie said to him, "but it is a little strange, you know?" She laughed again. She wasn't sure the last time she had been quite this happy in her life as she was tonight.
"What can I say then? I guess I got some strange interests." He rested his forehead against hers as they danced, before lowering his voice to a whisper only she could here. "If it's alright with you? I think I'm gonna kiss you now."
"Some very strange interests," she replied. When he said that he was going to kiss her, she smiled at him. "Well, I *guess* that would be OK," she said playfully to him.
With a little smirk, he tilted his head and pressed his lips against hers, lowering his hands to sweetly grip her hips.
She pressed her lips against his as well, just trying to stay in the moment and enjoy the feeling of WARM lips against hers.
"Thanks again. You know... for coming with me tonight. I'd been wanting to ask you out for a while now, and I guess I figured this was a good time, you know?" He tried not to babble, lost in the fact that, wow... she was a GOOD kisser.
"Well, I wasn't expecting that our first major date was going to be Prom, but I'm not really arguing here," Jamie said with a grin to him. "Not sure how a second date will live up to it though," she teased.
"Oh, I have my ideas..." He said with a hint of mischief, as if that wasn't OBVIOUS, what he meant.
She arched an eyebrow at him. Jamie didn't put out on a second date, so she hoped THAT wasn't what he meant. Why DO all these girls sleep with guys right away?
He just started laughing there, as her face gave away EXACTLY what she thought he meant. "Relax... I don't have you confused with Camille, babe. I was thinking more long the lines of a romantic dinner, lots of kissing... not much more." Then, because again, he didn't like to lie, "Ok, maybe a LITTLE more... but not what you were thinking."
She blushed. "Sorry...I just...I don't know if it's because I'm a Midwestern girl or what, but things just seem to go a lot faster here. So...romantic dinner...never been to one but I've heard they're great, kissing is awesome...just be willing to go slow for me, OK?"
"Of course, babe. I don't plan on rushing you into anything. I swear." SOMETHING seemed not altogether normal about her... but he couldn't figure it out. Of course, 'Vampire Slayer' wasn't about to come to mind, but hey.
If only he knew the sort of life she had led in her short time in LA. Nothing like, nasty, but definitely off the beaten path. "Glad to hear it," she said, relaxing a little.
