Who: Jon Marrok and Ash Marrok Where: Angeles National Forest When: The morning after this incident.
Ash:The first thing that came to Ash's mind was the aching all over his body. The stinging of dirt in his still bleeding wounds. He groaned and rolled over to his back, eyes opening up to sunlight beaming down through the trees. He squinted them again and lifted dirty hands to rub at them before attempting to see once more. "Jon?" He croaked, sitting up with a wince and looking down at his body. He had scrapes, bruises and cuts, even a bite on his shoulder although it wasn't very deep. He hurt all over and panic was starting to creep in because he didn't see his brother in the near vicinity. "Jon?!" He called again, louder.
Jon: With a heavy limp, Jon came out of the wood panting, blood covering most of the dark fur of his upper body. Some was his, some was the attacker's. He was aching all over and he knew that changing back into human form would aid in the healing process greatly. So, once he was near Ash, he fell to the ground with a dull thud and transformed back into human form. Sweat mingled in dirt and blood covered every inch of him it seemed, making his skin an even crazier array of colors thanks to his tattoos as well. The change did aid in sealing the largest of his wounds, a bite just at his right shoulder and most of the minor ones completely.
Ash: Ash immediately wrapped his brother into his arms with a small gasp of concern. He was mindful of the remaining wounds, but not caring for one moment that he was getting blood smeared on him. "Fuck, Jon." He whimpered, "Are you ok?" He was nuzzling close, worrying showing in his features as eyebrows nit together and hands sought out any remaining wounds to make sure none were too terrible.
Jon: "Yeah, yeah" Jon replied quickly but in a very hoarse voice. He winced a couple times as he adjusted himself in Ash's embrace more comfortable so as to see his body for himself. "Are you okay? You didn't get hurt bad did you?" he was more concerned for Ash's safety and well being than his own really.
Ash: "Yeah, I'm ok." He replied, seeing his brother moving about, albeit stiffly and hearing him talking was helping calm him so he could think straight. "Got a bite, but he just grazed me. I'll be ok in a day or two." He tilted his shoulder so Jon could see the bite there. It looked angrier than it really was, but the blood smear and dirt wasn't helping either.
Jon: Jon let out a rumbling deep growl and the sight of Ash's marred skin. He grew angry all over again and wished they hadn't needed to run away. He wanted to kill that asshole, but he had been way over powered and it was the best thing to have done to protect Ash in the end.
"I..I'm so fucking sorry, Ash." Jon said somberly. "I should've checked if this was someone's territory before we came out here. I never fucking thought about it. This is all my fault."
Ash: "Stop." He frowned, "Don't be sorry. This could have happened anyplace, territory or not. We're both alive, we'll heal and that's really what matters, right?" He laid a careful kiss to his brother's cheek before stiffly rising to his feet. "Lets go home."
Jon: Jon normally would have argued with Ash. The boy was so young and didn't understand so much when it came to the pack ways, but he was too tired, too sore, and in too much agreement with the going home part to do so. He used Ash to get himself to his feet, leaning against his brother as well as they made their way back to the car where their clothes would be waiting for them.
Ash: Ash was already over his own wounds. He'd had worse falling off his skateboard before and walking them out was helping. His entire attention was on helping his older brother. He got them to the car and dug out Jon's clothing first to help slip them on him before he pulled on his own pants. "I'll drive." He said with a small smile, "You just relax."
Jon: Jon didn't protest at all. He knew he was too injured to attempt to drive. After he dressed, he slid into the passenger seat with Ash's help and welcomed the soft comfort of the seat. He leaned his head back, rubbing at the bridge of his nose and had to maintain his cool with all the effort he could find. He felt like a failure. Like he had let down Ash as well as their father. The one thing he promised was the boys would not get in to trouble and it looked like they were knee deep in the shit now.
Ash: Ash settled down into the driver seat before pulling his loose fitting shirt over his head. He glanced over at Jon, frowning a little bit at how he was acting. Ash knew his brother really well. Well enough to know when something heavy was on his mind and this was even beyond the pain he was probably feeling from injuries. "Love you, Jon..." He murmured with a small smile, hoping it would at least bring him around a little. Then he turned the engine over and pulled carefully back onto the road.
Jon: Jon let his head fall to the side to look at Ash. He smiled softly, though it didn't reached his eyes too heavy with worry. "I love you too" came his voice in a mutter and he reached out to rest a hand on the boy's thighs. "We're probably gonna have to find a new place to go next month you know."
Ash: "Yeah, I know." He nodded, keeping his eyes on the twisting road but dropping a hand to lay over Jon's. "We'll find a place though. Once just for us." He smiled. Normally he wasn't so much the optimist, but this time he felt like Jon needed him to be and he was happy to do it.
Jon: It was worrying Jon how calm Ash seemed to be. He knew at his age, if he'd been nearly killed by a much stronger wolf, he'd be out of his mind with fear. So, carefully he asked, "Are you sure you're okay, little brother?"
Ash: "I'm ok as long as you're ok." he murmured, finally turning his eyes briefly from the road to look at his brother. There was a flash of fear in them, but it wasn't for what had just happened to him, attacks he could handle, injuries he could handle, he was tougher skinned than Jon thought he was, but...the thought of losing his brother was terrifying to him. The thought that his brother could have been killed protecting them both was enough to draw a sudden flood of tears to his eyes but he looked away and back to the road before it got out of hand and Jon noticed.
Jon: The thing was, Jon did notice them. He frowned and grabbed Ash at the back of the neck, massaging the muscles there. "I'm okay. We're alive, and out of there, so we're both okay." He hated seeing his brother hurting. It pained him more than any bodily injury could.
Ash: Ash just nodded and offered Jon a small smile, driving in silence a bit longer. "Hey..." He finally said, just as they were coming back into the city. "When we get home and showered can we order like 3 pizzas and spend the rest of the day watching movies?"
Jon: Jon smiled at that thought. It sounded quiet wonderful. "Sounds perfect." He muttered and with a grunt, settled more into his seat.
