Cap-city Spaceport WHO: Admiral Thomas Burk WHERE: Caprica City Spaceport WHEN: Before returning to Battlestar Avalon
"Attention at Gate twenty-five, Inner-Sun Flight Zero Ten, Departing for Casperon will be boarding shortly. Please make sure you have your passport and boarding pass is ready at the gate, and thank you for choosing Inner-Sun Lines."
Rear Admiral Thomas Burk wearing his blue Colonial Forces uniform, stood up from his seat next to his wife at the passenger gate lounge. He looked at his brunette wife, and then at his oldest son who was already standing. His oldest wore the dark gray service uniform of a cadet from Tauron's military academy at Gladius Cross. His eyes then gazed at his teen-aged daughter, and then at his youngest son.
"It's that time," he said. He reached out to his wife and helped her up.
His daughter was the first one to give him a hug. "I'm going to miss you father." Her voice on the edge of tears. She was the most emotional of his children.
"I'm going to miss you too, Daria," his hand reached out to his youngest son. "You too Hank." After a couple more seconds of embracing, he kissed each on forehead. "Take care of your mother and sister," he said to Hank.
He turned to his wife and gave her a kiss and a hug. "Love you."
"Love you too." she replied looking up into his eyes, and then turned to the oldest.
"Make your father proud, Tommy."
The cadet nodded, "I will mother."
"He will," Burk glanced at Tommy. "Is that right, cadet?"
"Yes, sir."
The Burk family said there final goodbyes. His wife and two youngest were off for Aerilon, while his son went with him to a waiting Raptor on the military side of the space port. The commander of the Battlestar Avalon thought it would be good if his son accompanied him before his eventual transfer to his summer midshipman tour on a destroyer a few days later.
