She stepped in at least a foot of snow and was dazed by the winter wonderland for a moment. Back on Tawa it had been the middle of summer, and now they were in artic conditions. She looked back at the gray raptor with red colored double tails. One of the tails was clipped and the DRADIS dome was gone. A steady cloud of steam rose from the engines.
Jilleen nodded at Jurgen’s first command. She then took a moment longer to look around them and saw a few buildings at the edge of the snow field. There was smoke rising from what look like chimneys. “Over there,” she pointed. “Houses, I think.” The buildings were part of resort on the lake shore.
