Jilleen was sitting at a white clothed covered round table in one of the party rooms which was going to be used for a different function later in the evening. For now it was empty except for some workers setting up additional tables and wiring a stage on the other end of the room. It was good enough for her to reorganize the Admiral’s schedule before joining the festivities in the ballroom. His last minute arrival to Tauron disrupted his schedule of meetings on Sagittaron, which Jilleen had to reschedule and coordinate. The Admiral’s time was always fluid because in the end it was his time. It was the aide’s job to make sure the flag officer had the time to meet his obligations and to coordinate with all the parties concerned.
She got late confirmation from the Prime Minister’s office that the new leader of Sagittaron would be able to meet the Admiral upon his return tomorrow evening. This required Jilleen to again alter the Admiral’s schedule for the important meeting.
“Here,” she handed the note to a specialist who was one of the staff clerks. “Send this amendment to headquarters, and wait for confirmation that each subordinate division command received a copy.”
“Yes, sir.”
“One other thing, the Admiral will be staying with some friends tonight, so he won’t need the car. You and the driver can take the rest of the night off after you complete the task at hand.” Jilleen closed the note binder, and handed that to him too.
“Yes, sir, thank you, sir.”
“You can thank Mars,” she got on her feet and picked up her smart phone from the table. She followed the specialist out into the hall. They headed off in opposite directions. She was on her way to the ballroom.
