Marcus was getting more than fed up with this. He hated how tedious things had become as of late. Had it been up to him, the Guard would have killed the Cullens and that little hybrid wretch before. And as for the dirty mutts? They would be dead as well. Each and every one of them. But, unfortunately, he was one of three leaders of the Volturi's forces. And considering his constant...disposition after losing Didyme so many years ago, his hate for everything made him biased on some plans of action. Aro and Caius were there to balance things out and make sure things stayed on track with the original intent.
But the one thing that they did agree on was this. The little half-human, half-vampire girl had not been forgotten. And that she along with two other of the Cullen coven were missing from Forks and it hadn't gone unnoticed. There were an array of things that could potentially be done. But the concensus was that a one of the guard would be sent after them. Perhaps he could take the girl and bring her back to Volterra. Otherwise, there was nothing wrong with a few threats, now was there? Marcus was content with this plan, even if it didn't quite match his ideal wants.
The guard who had been chosen for the job had been sent for and Marcus awaited him patiently. As always he was deep in thought, that perpetual look of apathy gracing those features.
"You sent for me, Master Marcus?" The guard had just arrived, though it was the sound of his movement, not his speaking, that alerted the older vampire to his presence.
"Yes..." Marcus turned to face him. "You have been chosen for a new mission. Aro, Caius and I would like for you to go to America. It seems that two of the Cullens as well as that damned half-breed have separated from the rest. Sources in America have spotted them in New York." He paused, calculating scarlet eyes never dropping the guard's gaze. "Once you are there, try to kidnap the little girl. If the other two get in your way, do not hesitate to use force. Do I make myself clear?" A single brow raised in question.
"Of course, Master. I'll leave straightaway." The other vampire nodded, and bowed some.
"Hm...if you were more efficient, you would already be gone," Marcus mused, turning away from the guard as he heard the sound of him retreating. Honestly, sometimes the incompetence astounded him.
