Summary: They're parents!

They got the news earlier in the day and it was a rush to get there as soon as possible, to be there when their children were born. And it took a little work, and it was fast and just a bit of a mess but it was so completely worth it when they were there and they got to see their children for the first time. The children that had been just a thought months ago, and now here they were - parents.

It made all those months of waiting, of worries, and fear, and maybe even a little bit of doubt, completely worth it to be there now with their children. And they were perfect, completely and utterly perfect. And not in the way that Sirius was perfect, but in the way that there could never be any doubt from anyone in the world at just how perfect his son's were. There could never be a pair of more perfect children in his eyes right then.

How had he ever thought that he didn't want this? That he could be content with being a godparents, an uncle. It seemed like pure insanity now as he held Apollo in his arms, the small bundle cradled close to his chest, feeling warm soft skin against his fingers and the soft sleepy sounds of his son filling his ears. It wouldn't all be perfect and serene like this, he knew that and yet none of that mattered. Apollo and Hermes would be perfect no matter the situation.

"Can you believe this?" He asked James quietly, tearing his eyes away from Apollo to look at James holding Hermes. "They're here and..." He trailed of shaking his head, he was completely infatuated with his children, and that was something unlikely to change any time soon.

Jamie had left work suddenly, leaving a message with his secretary so she could rely it to the Under Secretary. There was also no details divulged. He would not have the press print this, not until he could direct the way the news was released. He'd make sure that there'd be no mention of the mother or the doctors or even where the children were conceived. He wanted absolute privacy, but most of all security in case they decided to go through this again.

With work taken care of, they were off to New York for their birth of their children. It was bloody and slightly gross, but the moment they had their children in their arms, it didn't matter anymore.

Finally, they were alone with their children, and Jamie didn't know if he was more in love with their children or his husband. He grinned at Sirius. "I can. I sort of have been planning this for a while, but then you should know, you were there." It had taken some convincing, but he was glad that Sirius had agreed to have children. "You're going to be an amazing father."

Sirius chuckled softly, and rolled his eyes at James and nodded. "Yes, I was there the entire time. It was just so long, it felt like it would be forever before they were here and now they are and it's just a little hard to believe that the waiting part is over." Even with one of his sons in his arms.

He'd been so impatient over the last several months, especially when the updates came, he wanted to see his children, and to touch them and now here they were and it was more than a little surreal. "I can't believe we're parents." One day he'd get used to the idea, he'd be able to think of himself as a parent first, but that wasn't today. He'd never had any doubts that James would be good at this, he'd always been more worried about himself, but he thought this was something he could do.

"They're just so perfect." He wanted to show them to the entire world, it was bad enough keeping just the mere idea that they were going to be parents from their friends and family, and now that they were he wanted to show them off. He wanted Regulus and Remus to see his sons, and even after everything they'd been through he wanted James and Lily to see them. And at the same time he wanted to keep them for just himself and James, but he supposed that was what this moment was for. This time was just them and the twins without anyone else there.

James snorted, because that was so typically Sirius, not that he blame him even a bit. "I know! I told Rose that nine months is simply too long. She was worried about Loraine." Really, how insane! As far as he was concerned, they were the ones that had been even too patient.

He moved closer and kissed Sirius softly. "We are parents, and it's not strange at all. We'll have the coolest family around. The entire wizarding world will fall in love with the youngest Black children." They might carry Sirius' name, but James would use his name to give them the world and then some, but also to shield them as much as possible.

Holding Hermes with one arms, he brushed Sirius' hair, just as black as the hair on their sons' little heads. "They are yours. Of course, they are perfect. They'll grow up to be the most gorgeous children around, slightly arrogant, but I think we can live with that. I'm more worried about their father. He might be just a little too in love with them. I wouldn't want to be jealous of two little babies," he teased.

Sirius nodded slowly and with complete seriousness. It was funny to think of now, but while they had been waiting all Sirius could think was that nine months was far too long. "I don't think anyone can ever say that I'm not a patient man now though." He chuckled, if he could wait nine months for his children then he could handle a little patience in the rest of his life.

"Oh we're going to have the most amazing family ever." Sirius agreed, leaning into James for a moment. They all ready did as far as he was concerned and the addition of the twins just solidified that bit of knowledge. It was their family, so how could it be anything else? The idea that they wouldn't be was never something that had entered his mind.

Sirius grinned when James went on to describe their children and they way they would grow up, and then chuckled. "Can you blame him? Look at them? They're the most amazing thing I've ever seen in my entire life, and their ours." Gods, Remus was supposed to be the one who got soppy over babies, and yet here was Sirius doing just that. "There's never going to be a reason for you to be jealous though." He knew James was just teasing, but all of this was just too important to let it slide, "I'd never have all of this if it weren't for you."

"You've been very patient, and I will remind you of that the next time that we go through this." He kissed Hermes' forehead. "Because we will. We'll give you brothers and sisters."

He looked at up Sirius, smiling. "We will. I have no doubts about that." They had to endure hexes, deaths, war, but they had come out stronger than ever before.

James shook his head. "No, I don't. They are beautiful, Sirius," he said, almost in a whisper. They were the greatest thing he'd ever seen. "Mum and dad would have loved to see them." His mum would still get to see them, but it was different. "Dad would have been so happy for us." He leaned closer and kissed Sirius, while holding their son against his chest. "I'm not jealous, but you would have had this anyway. You're too special not to have found someone that would have shown you just how much you deserve all of this. I'm just glad that it was me."

Sirius grinned, he had no doubt they would do this again, it had been one thing to talk about it when they were first starting all of this, making sure that Loraine would help them again when they decided to have more children, but it was something that Sirius was even more sure of now than he'd been then. "Feel free to remind me of that whenever you need to."

He didn't deserve this kind of a life, one where he got all the things he wanted, even when he didn't know that he'd wanted them in the first place. But Sirius was not the kind of man who would insist he didn't deserve these things, no - he might acknowledge it to himself, but he was far too selfish to ever give voice to that thought. He'd hold on to all of this, his children, his husband, his family - all of it because it was what he wnated.

"They both would have been." Sirius agreed, he knew Ginny was back, that she and James had been working on getting to know each other again, but it wasn't the same. She wasn't his mother as much as he might have wanted her to be, and both Harry and Ginny would have been so happy to see the twins. Sirius curled his fingers against the back of James' neck, keeping him close after they kissed for a moment, holding Apollo against his chest all the while. "I wouldn't have wanted it with anyone but you."

"I will, because I plan to do this a few more times," he said, smiling. He wanted the big family, and had given up that dream when Sirius had said no children, but now that he'd seen Sirius' face, he knew that they would have the large family. "Mum is a Weasley, so you'd better be ready."

James smiled at Sirius, not sure what was going on in his husband's head, but knowing that it couldn't be bad. They were too happy for any sad thoughts.

"It's very good that I want them with you, then," he answered. "And really, who else would put up with us and our fame?" he asked, grinning. He knew that he was impossible to live with, even now that Voldemort wasn't an issue, the press was. James was learning to enjoy it. No, that was a lie. He was loving it now that he could control it, but he knew that no many people would be willing to put up with it, but Sirius had jumped right into it, from the very moment that they had come out. "I wonder if we'll still get bras to sign now that we're dads."

"I was born ready, just like these two." His voice taking on a slightly higher pitch with the last of his words as he looked down at Apollo asleep in his arms, god he was going to be impossible. Not even a day old and the twins all ready had him wrapped completely around their fingers - they didn't even know it yet, but Sirius could admit it.

He chuckled. "Well that's not something either of us is going to have to worry about now, you're stuck with me." He'd never had an issue with James' fame - with the press or any of the notoriety that went along with being the eldest son of Harry Potter, and now that he was a hero in his own right. He'd always been just James to him .

Their children would have to deal with that now, with being the sons of the great James Potter, being Blacks on top of that, but they'd figure it out and make it work. "I think we'll be even more enticing now that we're dads than we were before." He laughed softly. "Women love a man with a child." He assured his husband.

James chuckle. "You're so whipped, Sirius. Please don't ever say these things in public or you won't be so cool and in fifteen years, they'll wonder what their father was thinking of." He knew very well what Sirius was thinking of: their sons.

"That's for the best." He kissed Sirius again, smiling. "Because I'm not going anywhere."

He snorted. "Using our children for bras we don't even want? That's really low," he said, laughing, and knowing that Sirius didn't care. "Well, they won't get to see these children unless we want them to. I'm not my dad. I know how to use the press, and we will decide how and when the press gets to see them. They will get their exclusive in exchange for leaving us alone. I'll start working on it when we get home." He kissed Hermes' forehead again. "No one is going to mess with them."

Sirius scoffed. "Me? Whipped? And by children no less?" He shook his head grinning all the while. "I don't know what you're talking about James Potter. I am just a man stating facts about his children, nothing more." And then he laughed. "They'll know how cool I am, even in fifteen years when I'm an old man."

"As if I'd let you." Sirius was so ridiculously happy right then. He and James had been married three times now, they had their children, and they had a life that was theirs. He could hardly imagine how it could get any better.

He chuckled and lifted his shoulders unrepentant. "We don't even have to show the children to anyone to be more attractive just for having them. I'm not planning on wandering the streets to show them off." Though the idea was amusing, not only was he completely infatuated with James, he'd never let his children be used like that, even by himself. "I know you'll work something out when we get back. I want some time just for us though, for the family to get used to them. I want to properly introduce them to Regulus and Remus, and Ginny, and even Belvina, before we have any exclusives."

"What was I thinking?" James answered, biting his lip to stop from laughing. "As usual, you're being factual, since you have such a love for details and precision." He snorted. "Well, at least one of their parents will still be young and gorgeous when you are old. You know, in fifteen years."

James chuckled. "Thank you for telling me that I'm your prisoner."

He nodded, serious despite the good mood. "We'll go home. No one will find us there, and I've already left a message that I'm not coming in for the rest of the week. As far as the press knows, I'm away on personal matters. It will drive them nuts, but that's fine. I'll speak to a few people privately toward the weekend, and then we work something out for next week. We need to have those first pictures out before we can take them anywhere or we'll have them on top of us. Until then, we go from house to house and we avoid any public area. I'm sorry, but it's the best I can do. With me out, they'll know something's up, and you know how they get when they smell a story about a Potter."

"Clearly you weren't." Sirius tutted and shook his head, managing to keep a straight face. "I'm glad you know that about me, I'd hate to think we've been together this long and you'd missed out on my love for details and facts." They were both a bit crazy at the moment if their conversation was anything to go on, but Sirius was in such a good mood that he didn't care how stupid they sounded.

"You're the one who is going to be stuck with an old man in fifteen years, did you think about that? I'll get to enjoy you being all young and gorgeous and you'll have to live with me." He teased.

Sirius nodded. "No, I don't expect to have any great length of time without dealing with the press, I'm not nearly that optimistic." He chuckled. "But a week for just the family is good, I just don't want to have to deal with them straight away when we get back." Ideally they would have longer than that, but Sirius knew better than to press their luck where reporters were involved. It was much better to give the story when they decided how it would go instead of letting the press pick and push until they found out on their own.

"Clearly," he said, chuckling. "Oh no, I noticed very much. I'm shocked that Albus didn't put you in charge of the Order with your eye for details. I don't know what the man was thinking."

James smiled at Sirius when he kept teasing about the old age. "I can't imagine anything better than being stuck with you for the rest of my life, so you don't have to worry about that."

He nodded. "You'll get the week, then pictures and interviews, maybe a magazine, so we get another week before it's sold. We'll make it work, and I'll protect this family as much as I can," he said, his voice losing the jovial tone. He planned to use every ounce of power to keep his children protected by everyone, even the press. "But we can worry about that later. For now, let's just enjoy our children. We'll go home tomorrow and then we start."

"Albus thought my attention to detail would be better served behind the scenes." He told James with as much conviction as he could muster at the moment. It was a testament to just how much had changed in the months since they had left Hogwarts that they could sit there now and joke about the Order and their roles in it. They had come a long way since then.

"Have I told you recently that I love you and that you're absolutely perfect?" Sirius asked James, catching him round the back of the neck again and pulling him back to take another kiss.

He nodded. "I know you will, of that I have no doubt." They couldn't have complete privacy, but Sirius knew James would do everything he could to make sure this worked, and that they were all as safe as they could be. He wasn't worried about that. It would take time to get used to, and it would be a constant battle, but it was one he was ready to help James with whenever he needed it. "I think that is a very good idea." The twins were both still sleeping, but Sirius found that he was more than happy to enjoy them just as they were sleeping or not. There would be plenty to worry about in the months and years to come, but for now they had this, and it was perfect and that was all that mattered.
