RP Magdalene and Marlene
Who: Magdalene McKinnon, Marlene McKinnon
Where: Hogwarts to the Ministry
When: 9 December, 2025
Summary: Another McKinnon comes into the world

Hogwarts hadn't changed much in the years since she had seen it last - but then Magdalene suspected it hadn't changed all that much since it's inception hundreds of years ago. But that Hogwarts had not changed was not exactly troubling, what was though was how she had come to find herself in the halls without any clue as to how she had gotten there.

One moment she was on her way through the house and then the next she found herself in a very familiar corridor near her old house entrance. Well this was ... interesting to say the very least. She found a few students on the way to the common room, but they all seemed more inclined to run away from her than answer any questions - really was she all that intimidating?

Honestly, people never changed - you put a woman who wasn't afraid of showing off her attributes in front of them and they acted like they couldn't believe that was what women looked like under all that mess they went around wearing all the time. Finally, she found a young man in the halls who didn't seem to be scared of a woman showing a little skin (he didn't run in the opposite direction at least) and she smiled and started toward him. And then everything went dark.

When she woke again her surroundings were less familiar and the sort of confused wonder of finding herself at Hogwarts was replaced by a rising anger at her current situation. "Well this has become less than amusing - someone had better start explaining what is going on before I really lose my temper."

The explanation, however, did very little to put Magdalene in a better mood, in fact she was quite sure this was all some kind of prank or trick and she wanted very much to have her wand back again - it would go a long way to assuaging her worries about everything, and of course there was very little a good hex wouldn't fix.

And things seemed to get even more frantic when she rather unwillingly gave them her name, really 2025? How anyone was supposed to believe that was really insane. But at least things started to happen once they had her name.

Her excitement over seeing her mother was overshadowed momentarily at the actual sight. Magdalene McKinnon was younger than the age of her death, but she looked just as Margot remembered. As her mother approached her, she automatically opened her arms and wrapped them around the older witch.

"Oh Mum! I can't believe it's really you!" she said. "Must be a new procedure because Marlene took me home and gave me a drink." Of course, her reaction was to make sure her sister wasn't suffering from some modified Memory charm.

"Of course, I don't mind at all. Besides, overwhelmed, is there anything else you feel?" Margot asked, pulling away.

It still felt like it had only been a few hours since she had seen her daughter last, but if it had truly been nearly eleven months as Marlene had said then Magdalene wanted to see both her daughters even more.

"Yes it's really me." She assured her youngest daughter, laughter in her voice, she felt like she might be assuring people she was really herself quite often - though it was impossible for her to be anything else.

"Perhaps it is, I didn't ask. Did you hear your sister is trying a monogamous relationship?" Magdalene asked shaking her head still, that was by far the most unbelievable bit of news she'd gotten. "Though it is with Alastor so I don't suppose I can be too surprised, I always said he would make her happy." This just hadn't imagined her daughter to have settled herself down like this, and so young too.

Magdalene shook her head. "Oh I'm find love, more importantly, how are you?"

Part of Margot knew it was really her mother, yet something about physically hugging her and feeling her breath made it appear more real. "Thanks for humoring me," she teased her mother when Magdalane chuckled.

Nodding, She linked arms with her mum and lead her to a private room. "I always saw the two of them ending up together one way or another," she answered. "It is still a little surprising though, but she's happy."

Margot smiled. "I am good. Not settled like big sis," she said while gesturing her mother to sit on the bed. "Please watch the light at the tip of the wand." She quickly gave Magdalene an exam.

"As I suspected, in prefect health."

"You know I'll always humor you, love." Magdalene smiled, oh she did love her girls, and all of this couldn't be so bad if they were both here and well - that was the important part.

"He's been her best friend since they were eleven, I always figured he would be around." Magdalene agreed, though this was not something she had seen coming. "As I've always told you both, I've only ever wanted you happy."

She huffed amusedly but let Margot examine her, just so they could say they got this done. "Like I told you." She smiled though. "But tell me about you, what are you doing now? Apart from working." She added. "Are there any boys, or girls maybe?" She looked expectantly at her daughter. "Are you having fun?"

"Well, if you don't no one will." Still reeling from her mum's arrival, she gave her quick squeeze. While she always considered herself more like her grandfather, Margot adored her mother's personality and passion for life.

"And we are happy," she replied. Even though she worked far too much for her own good some days, Margot loved it. The exam was quick since Margot could tell right away nothing was wrong with Mum, but followed procedure as expected.

Rolling her eyes at her mother's question, she shook her head. "No one of importance from either gender," she answered. Since her disastrous attempt at causal, Margot pretty much avoided getting close to anyone these days. It was easier that way. "I have fun when I'm not working, which you will probably think is not often enough."

Magdalene shook her head at her daughter but smiled, Margot always was the more sedate of her girls, it was likely why she had gotten on with her father so well, but she always sold herself short. "I wouldn't be so sure about that."

"Good," She would of course continue grilling both the girls for more information than simply they 'were happy', Magdalene wanted details about what they had been doing, the years she had missed all of it. She would get it in time, so she didn't press further at the moment.

"That's a shame love, they don't have to be important though, unimportant can do wonders for your mood from time to time." She reminded her daughter. "As I understand it everyone has been busy recently, it's not entirely unexpected for you to be the same."

"You know me, Mum. I'm far too serious for my own good," she said, making fun of herself. "Besides, it's always nice having you around to humor me."

Margot quickly summoned any paperwork necessary to clear her mum and filled it out. With a final slash across the end of the parchment she signed her name.

"As I'm been told repeatedly," she said with a small sigh. "However, I'd rather be important than just scratching an itch." Sometimes she wondered how she came from such an open family. She wasn't a prude in anyways; she was just selective.

"I will always have time for you," Margot replied with a smile. "Why don't we see if I can take a few hours off to get you settled in at home?"
