RP: Amelia and Kingsley
Who: Amelia Bones and Kingsley Shacklebolt
Where: Ministry, administrative offices
When: 9 November 2025, morning
Summary: Newly arrived from death/the past, Amelia is back at work at the Ministry and greeted by an old acquaintance.
There had been no question that Amelia would go to work at the Ministry as soon as they would let her. She'd been cleared by Healers and then given a lengthy and vaguely bewildering explanation from Marlene McKinnon as to what had happened and how she had come to be so many years in the future. The Head Auror had also been kind enough to give her a place to stay, and so Amelia had spent long into the night pouring over the last few back issues of the Daily Prophet.
It was at the Ministry the next morning, however, that she had the means to do some meaningful research. She went in early and discovered that Amelia Bones, Head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, had been murdered in 1996 by He Who Must Not Be Named himself. She honestly wasn't certain whether to be pleased that she had been running the department like she'd dreamed, or furious that she hadn't lived long enough to be Minister. It was easier to think about these things in such abstract ways than as if it was really something that could have happened to her.
As it was, she found herself, when she arrived, ushered into a familiar old position - Wizengamot Administrative Services. She knew better than the bristle at the seeming demotion straight away, as for all she knew it could be temporary - not to mention the dire straights she found the offices in. Merlin's beard, what had happened to the Wizengamot?
As the morning wore on, she only became more annoyed, first after learning that her immediate supervisor was apparently a 20-year-old. And so, the desk she'd been given littered in parchment as she somehow tried to absorb nearly half a decade of information all in one day, she jerked her head up when she heard a knock at the door and snapped, "What?"
