Summary: The 'watchers prepare for a full moon patrol
Isaac listened to the very human howls coming from Tristan's room, and he grinned despite the situation. He was remarkably nervous about his grandson actually being out with the pack tonight, even if he himself would be there. Besides, they all had to learn somewhere, and Landon was training to be an auror.
Whatever they came across - if they came across anything at all - they'd be able to handle it.
"If you two don't knock it off," he called up the stairs.
"You'll what?" Tristan called back down with a laugh.
"I'll make you find your own place. Then you can see how funny it is when you have to pay rent."
Isaac grinned as both Tris and Lan burst into laughter. "We're nearly ready, if you two can bring your howling selves downstairs."
Glancing over to the door as it opened, he started to smile when he saw who it was, though it shifted to a frown at her expression. "Acevona?" he inquired softly.
Ace shook her head. "Relic's got a stray, so he's ..." she hesitated. "He's sitting with her. She's fairly bad off from what he's said."
"One of Fenrir's?"
She shook her head. "One of Sterling's." She lifted a hand in a wave to Tris and Lan as they thundered less than gracefully down the stairs. "You lot be careful tonight," she admonished them. "Especially you, old man."
"It's just a patrol," Isaac emphasized. "To let Lan get his feet wet."
"Hear that Lan? Better waterproof your boots," Tris teased his best mate as he listened to the other two talk. He was glad there'd be another wolf to run with them soon, though he was aware there might be consequences. But ... that was why they were here, right? To deal with the consequences of rescuing reluctant weres. "Is she moving in with us?"
Ace shook her head, then shrugged. "Staying with Relic for now. If we didn't think the pair of you would terrify her to death, we might have brought her here."
"Oi!" Landon protested after he finished lacing his boots. "That's hardly fair. I'm not the one who'd terrify her." But he understood well enough. If she really was from Sterling's pack, and if half the stories he'd heard were true, she was probably a very, very broken thing. It toughened his resolve though; they couldn't have weres running around like that, packs that weren't willing to take the potions.
Tris grinned. "Yup. It's all me. I'm the terrifying one." He arched his back. "Though on that note, I think I feel things starting to shift, if you get my meaning. Same spot?"
"Same spot," Isaac assured him. He watched the boy leave and listened to the pop of his disappearance as he disapparated before holding out an arm for his grandson. Landon hadn't gone, and it was easier to side-along with him than try to give him coordinates to where they met. "Will you be all right alone?" he asked Ace softly.
"Yes. I even promise not to poison myself until Relic's done dealing with the new addition."
"That's what I like to hear," he teased his 'daughter' gently. Once Lan was set, Isaac popped out with him to start their patrol ... and to keep Tris a bit of company while he ran with the moon.
Ace sighed and moved to the front room. Flopping down, she reached over for the book Relic had brought over for her. She supposed she coulud at least get some reading done while she sat around; if she was lucky, some of the other 'watchers might stop in and keep her company.
