Summary: Margot finally gets a moment away from patients, but not to herself
77 dead. 23 of their own, most of which were DOA, but Margot lost a few while attempting to save them. There was no time to linger over them. She and the other healers worked quickly until out of no where several teal robed individuals arrived. Even with the reinforcements, Margot never stopped moving. There were 110 critical; 92 semi-critical and 69 minor injuries. Those who could still walk, she didn't mend right away. Instead she focused on the critically wounded and cursed.
24 hours after it all began, the grounds were quiet. When the patients were stable they were moved to the castle where she worked even more. With incoming patients and treated ones needing additional surgeries, there hadn't been time to even consider a break until almost everyone was quiet. Taking charge of the back-up healers, she called for potions and other Healers, staying awake for close to 28 hours. When confronted by the head of emergency from St. Mungo's, Margo refused to leave her patients. "I will hex you if you don't go rest. You're no good tired."
So, Margot walked outside in the cold, crisp morning. Exhaustion wore her down, but she didn't want to sleep. Worried that one of her patients would die if she closed her eyes, she simply walked into one of the courtyards and sat. The weight of those who died while she worked on them felt heavy around her shoulders, despite the number of lives she was able to help save which usually gave her a feeling of accomplishment and pride.
You feel too much, Healer Goldstein's voice said in her head.
You're right; I do.
Footsteps echoed throughout the courtyard causing Goldstein's voice to fade away. Glancing up, Margot just nodded her head when she saw who it was. "Hi."
