Kat wasn't one who had ever called Hogwarts a home. She'd had a home to return to that she loved, and she'd always seen Hogwarts as just a school. A few months ago she had eagerly waited for the moment when she'd never see it again, and now she was utterly relieved to be back inside its walls.
"The Slytherin common room probably would be," she said with a small smile. "But yeah, it's certainly familiar, though I never thought I'd want to return." Now she was grateful to be here, away from it all.
She looked away for a split moment, then met Mrs Nott's gaze again. "I appreciate that sentiment," she answered though she was always going to feel ashamed of her parents' inaction. It was impossible not to be. "I was so pleased when I heard Belvina was safe at the castle. I should write to her. I trust she is well?" Or as well as she could be after such an event, but she and Mrs Nott both knew that.
Still she decided that a change of topic would not be amiss. "I was told that everyone is expected to work here," she said, and she realised she could not imagine Mrs Nott working.
