Ben nodded at her question. "That's my dad. My mum's Mandy. And I was in school with your daughter." He grinned. "Different Houses though, but I saw her around."
"Sounds fair enough," Ben said amiably. "I'll shout if I get into trouble." Though he was sure he wouldn't. He just had to get comfortable behind the bar, and there was no better way than to just jump right in.
He moved down the bar and took a few orders, not bothering with a pad. He'd always been good at remembering long lists, something he inherited from his parents. He was also good at keeping up a steady stream of conversation, and knowing when he should stop and have a listen and when to get moving again.
He filled the orders quickly but carefully, every so often pausing to wipe down the bar until it was spotless. He also took the chance whenever he could to do a mental inventory, making sure to memorize the layout of the alcohol. He'd have to find out what the House drinks were, but for now he was good at improvising.
