"You sound more surprised than glad," she said softly. "If there was something wrong, I would talk to you, love, but there isn't. I'm ... good, and I really hate talking about relationships," she said, making a face. "Is this how you feel when we talk about emotions in general? Because it really sucks, but I want you to know." Marlene turned towards him, wrapping both arms around him. "I want you to know how much I love you, and how much this makes things better."
She smiled. "Full sentences? I'm impressed. That must be strange for you, but I can see why not for him," she said. "To me you're my Alastor, I don't think about those five years or the eye. So how long before he warns me off? Your brother is the type to ask him about my intention, I hope you know that."
She sighed again. "I know what you mean, and I'm not disagreeing; I have a problem with killing yourself."
