Summary: The Order retreats to Hogwarts.

As soon as Jamie was out of the Ministry, he Apparated to Grimmauld Place, and began sending messages.

He sent the first message to Severus and Moody. Voldemort has taken control of the Ministry, get ready to set up defences at Hogwarts. Be there as soon as I inform everyone..

The second was a fire message to all members of the Order: Voldemort has control of the Ministry. You and your family are to relocate at Hogwarts immediately. Take anything necessary; you won't go back.

Then there was fire message to the teachers on board who were members of the Order, while the ones who weren't received a Patronus with the exact message.

Voldemort has control of the Ministry and there was an explosion at King's Cross. Do not tell the students or you'll have panic. Stop the train, Apparate the Muggleborns home and advise them to leave immediately. Advice anyone capable of Apparating, with or without a license, to take themselves and any siblings home. When done, retreat to Hogwarts and bring Hugo, Alex, Roxanne and Louis Weasley.

Another Patronus was for Al: Voldemort has control of the Ministry. Go to Hogwarts immediately. Take anything necessary from the house, because you won't go back.

Finally, he sent a last message to Sirius. You'd better be okay. I'm going to Hogwarts, get your arse there, and let me know, you're okay.

Finally, he changed into something more comfortable, grabbed his broom and anything that he could think they'd need in the coming months. Thankfully, they had the house under Fidelius and would be able to return. He handed the trunk to Dolan and told him to go straight to Kreacher and then he Apparated to Hogwarts, the last free place in the country.

Bryn, this is Rose's mother. She told me your animagus form is a lynx. She says she loves you. Now, I need you to pack everything you need for survival and get to Hogwarts immediately. There is no time to waste.

Talk about weird, an otter patronus materializing in the middle of his kitchen? Then talking in Mrs Weasley's voice. Not to mention the bizarre message. But before he had a chance to think it over too much, his brother had arrived. He'd barely understood the words that came from Jasper's lips. The Ministry had been taken? They had to run... it was just insane.

Going upstairs, he packed up his stuff while Jazz talked their parents into leaving the country. Grandpa and Grandma would need to leave too if they could. No Muggles would be safe with a Death Eater in the Minister's chair. Shrinking down his belongings, he stuffed them all into one rucksack, grabbing his broom as he left.

Hugging his parents, he promised to stay safe and they in return assured him they'd be out of the country the very next day if possible. Then he and Jasper apparated as close to the castle as they could, before hopping on their brooms to cover the rest of the journey up to the front door.

As soon as they made it to the entrance hall, Jazz allowed himself to relax a little. At least his brother was safe, that was all he really cared about. 'You find Rose and you help okay, but you stay here.' He held up a hand as his brother, typically, started to question the instructions. 'Just do as you're told for once? I have to go and get my stuff from home, I'll be back in a bit. Just stay.'

Ignoring the look his brother gave him and the 'but you're bleeding' comment, he made his way back to the gates and apparated to his flat, packing up the essentials and defending the place before returning to the castle.

The grounds were pretty much chaos. By now Craig knew the basics, Ministry had fallen, people were on their way here. He was walking the grounds doing his best to help where he could, keeping an eye out for his friends.

He had seen Jamie, and breathed a large sigh of relief then though he hadn't gone and talked to him since he looked so busy. He hadn't seen any sign of Dylan yet though which worried him. He hadn't seen all of the professors who had been with the train yet either which was causing him to worry.

When Craig saw someone familiar walking by themselves he hurried over, a grin on his face as he recognized Jazz, "Well that's one more safe," he told his friend as he looked him over. Craig frowned though when he noticed the blood. "Have you been looked at? Come over here I know some of the basic spells." And since Jazz was walking, and looked alright except for the blood Craig would try and help him since he knew Anthony was swamped and wasn't sure what other healers were around.

'Hey you.' Jazz grinned tiredly at Craig as the younger wizard joined him. He was about to wave off the concern when he actually looked down at his side. There did seem to be quite a bit of blood soaking into the fabric of his robes now. Maybe he should let Craig have a look at it.

'No, not yet.' He followed Craig obediently, dropping his rucksack on the floor. 'M'kay, I'll let you look.' Shrugging off his robe, he peeled up the t-shirt he wore underneath, wincing slightly at the gash across his ribs. 'I heal quicker than normal anyway, so it probably looks a lot worse than it is.'

Craig was glad when Jazz didn't argue with him, not even bothering to take him back to his hut, just out of the way of the people walking by. He was sure Jazz was looking for people just like he was and figured they'd both be happier in a place they could see who was around.

"Wasn't really giving you a choice," Craig told him, "Just as stubborn as you and I'm not the one bleeding. Maybe just this once I'd win," he said as he cast the basic healing charm, nodding as the cut slowly healed. "Might still have a scar, not sure," Craig told him honestly, picking up the t-shirt and using a clean portion to wipe the rest of the blood off, "That was ruined anyway," Craig said forcing a chuckle.

"I've seen Jamie," he told him, "Have you seen Bryn? Or Dylan? Or well anyone else who wasn't already here?" Craig asked him, worry clear in his tone as he bit his lip before scanning the crowd again.

'I'm not stubborn.' Jazz frowned, wincing slightly as the cut on his side slowly healed itself. It was the strangest thing, having skin re-knit fast enough for you to feel it. 'I can deal with scars, have enough of them.' He gave the ruined t-shirt a rueful look, one less and he didn't know when he'd be able to nip to the shops again. 'Thanks Craig.' He leaned in and kissed the younger wizard's cheek quickly.

'Bryn is here. I haven't seen Dylan or Oliver. Have you seen Cedric? He was on the train.' Pulling on his robes again, he wondered aloud about his cousin. 'Most people got off the train right? I mean, they're kids, you'd think the Death Eaters would leave them alone.'

"You're a Gryffindor," Craig told him, still managing to keep a grin on his face, "By definition you're stubborn. Just like I am," Craig ran his finger over the healed cut, making sure it was alright. "Your welcome," he told him, his smile slightly more real as Jazz kissed his cheek.

"That's good," Craig commented when Jazz said Bryn was around, though he frowned at the mentioned of the other three names. "I haven't seen Oliver or Cedric, haven't even seen all of the professors." He looked up at Jazz with a sigh, "The train was attacked, I heard people talking about it. I know Ted is gathering list of people, those here and those dead." Craig hadn't gotten a look at either list yet. "You'll need to find him and give him your information soon." He probably should be taking Jazz over there now, he just wasn't sure where Ted was.

Jasper shivered as Craig's finger traced over the new scar and he caught his hand in his. 'Not the time or place, love.' He said softly, he hadn't really known for sure that touches on any scar would get a reaction. Now it seemed he did.

'I'm sure he'll be okay. He's pretty clever for a Hufflepuff.' Jasper wasn't sure if he was trying to convince Craig or himself. 'Ted Lupin? I suppose I better go check in and see if I'm needed anywhere.'

Craig couldn't resist the chuckle at Jazz's words, "Wasn't even thinking that," he told him honestly. "Was just making sure it had fully closed." Hell he couldn't think of a time when sex had been further from his mind than right now.

Nodding Craig said, "Of course he will be." He wasn't sure how reassuring he sounded just then so he leaned up to hug Jazz for a few seconds. "Do you need another shirt now? My hut's close I can go enlarge one for you." Craig then nodded, "I think people are needed everywhere. I'm just trying to help out where I can and keep an eye on people."

'Just my dirty mind then, I can't switch it off.' He smiled, though tiredness crept into the expression. It had already been a long day and it wasn't even over yet.

He was grateful of the hug, and he held Craig tightly for the brief embrace. 'No, the robes will do for now. No use dirtying another shirt. You wouldn't want one of yours smelling like me anyway.' He squeezed Craig's hand. 'I best go check in, you'll be okay?'

"That's just part of what makes you you," Craig told him. "Any other time I probably would have meant that."

Craig buried his head in the crook of Jazz's neck as they hugged, taking the comfort as much as offering it. Chuckling at Jazz's comment he said, "They've smelled of worse things. I worked at the zoo remember?" Nodding as he squeezed Jazz's hand before letting it go he said, "I'll be fine. I was safe here the entire time. Go check in, find your people. If you see Dylan send him my way. We'll catch up later."
