She nodded, admitting she could see the wisdom of that. But for the first time since she'd been back, she mourned the loss of her female friends keenly. There was no one from this time with whom she could discuss pregnancy and childbirth, without worrying about it getting to the papers. She had a brief thought that being from a different time was very isolating, even with James, Sirius and Remus around.
"All right, but promise me you will consult experts before making any decisions. There's a lot that could go wrong, and a child is too precious to make rash decisions about," she said, sipping her wine.
She knew they were both thinking about the night Voldemort had come, though Lily didn't remember it. It hadn't happened for her, but it had for Sirius and she knew how hard it had been. She was still so angry he'd ended up in Azkaban, without even a fair trial. It was enough to make her want to scream, but she'd managed to hold the anger back so far.
"I think it's wonderful, Sirius Black. You've got so much love to offer, and now you've found someone who matches you so perfectly," she said, eyes shining. "I know I was taken aback when this all first happened, but I was wrong. I think it's amazing that you've found your soul mate." She knew she sounded like a complete girl, but hell, she was a girl and could be excused because of the sentimental nature of this conversation. "You're going to make a wonderful father. You were always amazing with Harry."
