Summary: Remus makes new plans for Sunday brunch.
Remus knew the man sleeping beside him would wake up if he moved enough. So, when he woke up that morning, he lay still, not wanting to spoil the surprise he'd planned by waking him too early. Listening to the soft breathing on the other side of the bed, he smiled softly, closing his eyes briefly in silent gratitude for being given this second chance.
The past week had been a roller-coaster of emotion he was still sorting through some of in the aftermath. But, one thing had become clear to him -- he wasn't going to be able to just give up and walk away as he'd thought he could when this all started. He needed to find a way around the obstacles keeping them from a forever and it was time he remembered he was a Marauder and used that experience for something a hell of a lot more worthwhile than pranking the other students. Where there's a will, there's a way. Isn't that what people said? Well, Remus had always prided on his willpower when it came to controlling himself and his life. He just needed the way.
Opening his eyes, his smile widened into a pleased grin when he saw breakfast appear silently in the room as he'd requested of Dolan the night before. He wanted to be the one to do the waking, not with the appearance of a table laden with every food imaginable from eggs to meats to strawberries, grapes, and a bit of hot chocolate because the dungeons could still be a bit chilled in the mornings despite the warming weather. A small tray with a first helping of food appeared at the foot of the bed as well, and his victrola was set up in a corner of the room.
Taking a single rose from the breakfast tray, Remus summoned an envelope from the pocket robes he'd tossed casually aside the night before. Holding both rose and envelope to be the first thing his lover saw when his eyes opened, he slid closer, a trail of light kisses leading along one shoulder before he murmured softly in Regulus' ear. "It's time to wake up, time for brunch."
