Summary: After the funeral
Dylan had spent most of the weekend in a drunken mist. From Friday's celebration, to shooting vodka in order to forget until finally Jamie had handed him a sobering potion an hour before the funeral and told him to get ready and promised him he'd help him get drunk afterwards again. He really did have the best friends.
Jamie had handled the funeral almost from start to finish, helped by the Auror division who had handled their part. It had - Dylan supposed - been a good service. Not too long and dreary, but something which was possible to sit through without too much effort.
He'd sat, and later during the burial stood, with the Aurors, shoulder to shoulder with James, glad he was next to him. The entire division was there, dressed in their uniforms, standing together. A fair few Hit-wizards were there as well, again in their uniforms in a sign of respect.
Now that it was over, Dylan wasn't sure what to do. People kept coming up to him, offering condolences, when most of the time Dylan just wanted everyone to bugger off and leave him alone. Or get drunk with him. Either worked. He was sure Cass had preferred a pub, some classic 20th century rock music, and plenty of beers to this standing around and being polite business. This - as respectful as it was - was not who Cass had been, but for now he'd suffer through it, hoping that people would leave soon enough so that he could get drunk again.
