Marcus shook his head and laughed, knowing all of that already. "I was joking," he said, still smiling. "I know the two of you are friends. I have been around a very long time."
"What I wouldn't do for a smoke right now," he mumbled as they walked, Tempting as it was, he still resisted, not only from the funeral but for Patrick too. He could keep the jones from getting too bad, by giving in to another one.
He stopped when they left the grounds. "Eros is a bit like your home and I know that I didn't get to come up on Halloween, and I wanted to but it is a business." He shrugged. "I would make sure to get to you on New Years Eve. Ring in the holiday properly." While Marcus did keep up appearances, there were times when he had a hard time caring what people thought of who he fucked. He doubted they would be surprised that anything went. He doubted it would hurt his business. He still couldn't afford to take chances though.
"The facades are stupid but necessary, more for you than I," he said. "It really does depend on you though, and how you present yourself. I wouldn't want to see you get hurt."
He laughed a little bit at the thought of Tracey being pregnant, but then nodded. Shaking his head, he relented to his own needs and pulled out a cigarette now that they were off the grounds. "I figured it was coming. I thought she would do it herself. What do you think?"
